Plus it’s complicated by the fact that pedophilia/pedo are phrases in popular culture to describe all child sex predators regardless of the clinical distinction he’s pointing at. “Pedo” in common vernacular has no age distinction beyond underage sex offender.
It’s like asking for a Kleenex and pointing out you got puffs brand instead. Technically you’re right but in practice it’s a generalized description of the same product or thing.

Good luck trying to sell a 50 year fricking a 14 year old isn't pedophilia in 2025
I've never understood why people get wrapped around the axle on this. It's not pedophilia
And frankly while a 50 year old with a 14 year old is bad I sure hope we can all agree that a 50 year old with a 7 year old is worse. The definitions exist for a reason. Acting like a 25 year old screwing a 16 year old is roughly the same as a 40-year-old diddling an 8-year-old is silly
There's a such thing as levels of bad

But shouldn't it? I mean you're correct but shouldn't it?
This kind of thinking is how we have ridiculous cases in this country of 18 year old boys screwing 16 year old girls that they started dating a year before and having their lives completely ruined because the girl's parents lose their fricking minds

It's amazing to me how people can just talk/type/post and not give any thought to what they're actually typing.
Like - this guy got to where he is over the course of his entire career. Then he just casually throws something out there like this.

Once you have to start splitting hairs about what is and isn't technically pedophilia, you're a creep and a predator either way.

Grok not having the "but ephebophilia..."

Peter, this ain't the hill to die on.

Yes it is, and you know full well it is.

Sometimes not even then. There were people calling Leonardo DiCaprio a pedophile for dating a 19 year old.

I’ve never heard of an 18 year old with a 16 year old being called a “pedo”.
I would argue the common definition would be something like “a grown adult having sex with someone under 18 with a 3 or 4 year age gap exemption for teens.
21 YO with 17 YO = OK
18 YO with 16 YO = OK
17 YO with 10 YO = PEDO

Not when it comes to diddling kids... and a 14 year old is still a kid if you are a 50 year old... or even a 30 or 25 year old.

Are you really defending those idiotic statements? By your logic if you had a 15 year old daughter it wouldn’t be “that bad” if they slept with a 40 year old man. Seriously, what is wrong with you?

It's called not being an emotional wreck. Of course if you have a 15 year old daughter and they are sleeping with a 40-year-old that's bad. But it's not as bad as if you have a 7-year-old daughter doing the same. Don't be a fricking toddler

Oh really? So you equate diddling a 15-year-old with diddling a 5 year old? You would consider those to be roughly the same crime? Are you fricking stupid

But they have found their way to sex offender list for completely consensual sex. Which is my point. If people refused acknowledge that there are levels then you end up with fricking stupid legal shite

Yes, but this isn't the place to do it.
While he's technically right, correcting someone labeling Epstein as a pedo is a bad look. What's the purpose of doing that?

That’s true but I think those were mostly jealous women upset with the implication that they’d aged out with prime movie star men and 4th wave feminist types.

It’s just as bad and dumb to try and explain away. Where do you draw the line? Is a 10 year old the “not as bad” line or is 12? I will hang up and listen!
