I think Elon is evolving and responding to the forces which he feels have come out directly against him, his company and his own family.
Disney is getting double attention for pulling ads off of X as well as promoting the trans kids movement which Elon feels he was duped by and thus lost a son to the woke mind virus. Which is appropriately named.
I doubt Elon of 10 yrs ago would have pledged so much $ to Trump.

He wouldn't, he said he hated Trump early in his presidency and donated to Obama and Clinton campaigns
However, he was objective, saw Trump did, and has evolved.
He is 100% anti woke and freedom at this point.
He is also realistic and although all for green energy and climate change, knows it doesn't happen overnight and realizes oil has a place.

In my mind, Elon has donated 44 billion to the cause. His purchase of X can’t be understated for truth and free speech. Being able to call out the corporate press for their lying and gaslighting in real time has been huge.

Couple things about Elon.
The man has more frick you money than possibly anyone on the planet. Or for that matter more than anyone who has ever lived on this planet.
Now he is African American, and he may realize what liberal idealogy can do to a country.
The man doesn't care about what may make him another billion. The man however is proud of the companies he built and wants his companies to succeed. He is a smart no nonsense guy who works hard and expects his people to work hard.
Since he is smart he can see how these liberal ideologies will play out. Now rather than enriching himself by embracing them and cut out special deals for himself that many people do, he is just like frick you all, this is stupid as frick. He isn't good at social interactions or politics. He just wins.
Instead of nudging a tech companies policies over the years for it not to be liberal, he just buys it and does it over night.
He is a combination of autistic and because he is rich as frick altruistic. He is, as the one as used to say, the most interesting man in the world.

Trump will probably favor domestic production wrt to Tesla as he has done with his previous economic policy. Tax credits may be more for domestics or high tariffs may be levied against imports.
