Sounds to me like you would prefer some contractor relationship than selling your time and efforts to an employer.

It does create resentment in the work place when some people get to stay home and others have to come in. I’ve seen that firsthand.

I have them making confessions while also supporting eliminating Federal WFH but not Private

Do you think WFH started during COVID19?

You don't even have a link to this....
Doubtful we've been trending this way for a long time.

My wife works from home and the only difference going in an office would be actually driving there. Not all jobs require an office. I don’t need an office either but I can’t work from home

I love Elon... but nah.

You've convinced me, op. I won't WFH for Amazon. Sold.
But my private company, that doesn't actually have enough real estate to accommodate the 100% of non patient facing employees that work for them, will still have to WFH. Musk's opinions mean shite in that regard.

Does your wife go grocery shopping or to the gym while on the clock? If not, tell her I am sorry these fraudsters ruined it for her. A change is coming, Bezos and Elon have already talked with Trump about eliminating work from home. It will start at the Federal level then trickle down to the private sector.

I do hybrid.
At office today, people kept fricking annoying me.
I could have accomplished more in 2-3 hrs of undisturbed, focused work at home.

I love Elon.
He’s wrong here. Not everyone can afford childcare for the 7 or w/e kids he has.
Where do we draw the line on that?
People work office jobs, while construction workers and lawn maintenance people have to work outside in the heat or freezing cold all day, and we're gonna work inside the work office? WOuldn't that same logic apply until we're all working under the exact same conditions doing the exact same amount of physical labor?
His argument is entirely illogical. At the very, very simplest terms...if a company wants to allow people to WFH, who tf cares if it's not your company? If you don't want to allow WFH at your company, more power to you. You run your company, you don't run other companies.

So is bedpan making the argument that Elon has the right and its morally right for the Federal government to tell private industry how to conduct its employment contracts ?

There are far more distractions at home than at work.

If a company allows WFH, why should you or the government care?

1% telling the 20% to work like the 79% that make the country run.
