You guys are doing backbends to try to explain all of this when the explanation is very simple.
Elon Musk had three overriding motivations:
1. He believed that our freedom of speech was imperiled by censorship and groupthink. He diagnosed that social media was working in lockstep with the MSM. This was causing The Woke Mind Virus to make progress because opposing views were suppressed, and it would lead to a one-party state.
2. He believed that our spending was out of control and had to be reeled in or we could face the end of the liberal world order that has been so productive over the last 80 years.
3. This is conjecture, but I suppose he was motivated to have his business interests treated well. That would include special treatment for EVs. Musk believes that solar power, with storage capacity, is the answer for powering human societies.
He got pissed off at Trump because he feels betrayed on points 2 and 3. Simple.

It has been remarkable watching the turn on Musk. The party line was solidified and the talking points were distributed rapidly. The complete shift just on this board was amazing with how fast the talking points were blasted here.

I think the democrat excuse is ludicrous. There is no agency by budget bigger than HHS which RFK jr runs. Also Tulsi is DNI.
I don’t care about mars. I do care about who controls space, satellites etc and want the best person regardless of party.
