Really wish this article wasn't behind a paywall.

Fantastic article. What began as a lest-leaning revolution in the Obama years has almost completely grinded the Democratic Party to a intra conflicting halt. It effectively ushered in the Trump era, and all by their own hands. They had one last gasp of a chance with Biden's presidency and they fricked it up gloriously. And now we're here.
It's an interesting turning point for them. I've been pretty independent these last few years but post-2016, have been a pretty big fan of Trump. But that doesn't mean it wouldn't do us ALL some good for the Democratic Party to come to their senses. Eventually power will swing back to them as it always does. If they've changed nothing, it will be fleeting.
We should all welcome some common sense to the Democratic Party. Are they capable of taking this advice?

He's a frequent guest on Australia Sky News' "Lefties Losing It" segment. He's really sharp. But always billed as Newsweek's senior editorialist, which is surprising bc it's historically been an outlet that has been pretty woke & TDSy.

My uncle was an elected Democrat district attorney of 3 Louisiana parishes from 1992-2008.
He went to meet Clinton several times in NO and BR on visits to Louisiana
He used to say he hated the GOP back in the 80s and 90s.
He switched his party id to independent after the Democrats nominated Obama and voted for McCain in 2008 and has never looked back.

LA Times is a business.
Needs sales to exist.

that's your take? had nothing to do with bush's second term disaster and our being bogged down in iraq no republican was going to win 2008.

Apparently USA Today gets it too....
Democrats rage against the Trump machine. Will they ever learn?

Jesus, how pathetic can you get. If you don't prepare yourself for the next time the opposition party is in power, you will be fricked.
It's as if we haven't learned one single, goddamned, mother fricking thing from the Patriot Act.

We're in a multiverse and I woke up in the wrong world today. That's the only explanation.
ETA:y wife was sending me frisky texts earlier, I should have realized it then. I'm definitely not in the right world.

Meh, James Comey single-handedly destroyed Clinton's 2016 campaign.
Republicans loved them some James Comey on October of 2016, and them predictably flip-flopped on him in May, 2017 when they didn't like him looking into potential ties of Trump with Putin.

Drifting? They put the foot to the pedal the day they voted for Obama. And have never let up

The Democratic party broke itself
Like a car with smoke pouring out of the hood and a horrible rattle and knock that isn't close to running right, the Democrats are hell bent on not pulling over. They're gonna drive that thing until ot's toast and isn't even worth the repair.

Doesn't this require pics, or is that only OT?

I'll admit I was one of those people. I voted for McCain, but coming off 2 rounds of W, housing market, subprime lending issues, etc. I was optimistic that it couldnt be that bad.

Nah.
I think their personal vendetta against Trump hurt them directly.
I do think they tried to break him and he broke them instead.

We live in a holographic simulation. Our consciousness is jacked in via the central nervous system. A very sophisticated spiritual technology.

I voted for Obama in 2008.
McCain wasn't conservative either, so I figured no matter who won we wouldn't have a conservative in the WH, and I really didn't like McCain on a personal level.
I don't know if you remember, but Obama campaigned on changing the tone of Washington and that resonated with me. So I figure, "Either way we won't have a conservative, but at least this way we'll have someone who wants to change the way Washington works."
Boy was I disappointed to discover that that was possibly the biggest campaign lie ever told.
Never again.

I just noticed that this piece was NOT written by anyone with the LA Times, but rather by Josh Hammer as a guest editorialist. He is a longtime conservative. In law school, he was active in the Federalist Society, and he went on to work for Daily Wire and The Blaze. Still, the LA Times DID print it, which is somewhat surprising.
IIRC, the guy who bought it planned on bringing the paper more to the center. Also IIRC his daughter was essentially running the paper and resigned because she wasn’t happy with it

I won’t use the Lord’s name in vain
But I will say this, frick you a-hole
I’m repeating what Trump said to the Evangelicals
“Come out and vote this time and you won’t have to vote again!”
Let me explain to the dumb arse that you are
The Dems have self destructed
They will never win again with their agenda
The only way they can win will be 12 years from now
And only if they have moved to our side
