H1Bs are usually paid just above $64k a year, which is what FedGov requires. They are used to replace citizens that make 2-3 times that. Multiple H1Bs I worked with at the last client (before I was replaced by two of them) were still making under 70k with 10 years of experience in IT.
The company I have the misfortune of working for is one of the largest users of H1Bs in the US. They treat the H1Bs like shite (you have two weeks to move your wife and a newborn from Michigan to Texas, and we'll reimburse you in 6-8 weeks, or you can take your arse back to India.)
It's not about their welfare benefits, it's how we've imported hundreds of thousands of people in the last five years along that massively undercut wages, fill job roles that citizens can do, and they work like dogs because they're constantly under threat of being sent back to India.
So, unless I'm reading between the lines incorrectly the ONLY benefit the US sees is expanded tax rolls (not necessarily intake $).
- And that is virtually no benefit to the gov't because you would see the equivalent with a non-visa holder?
- doesn't change the payroll taxes intake one iota?
- minimal benefit to the government with a net negative for citizens?

If Indians are such a blessing to the workforce of any country’s economy, then why is India such a shite hole? So proud to breed and spread like a disease across the globe yet not enough pride to cure what’s ailing their own nation?

The only real benefit to government is that it means Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, Google, Wipro, IBM, etc. keep throwing money at politicians to keep the system unchanged.
Overall, a huge net negative for the populace. They immediately start having kids when they get here, but they're paying taxes, buying homes, etc. like someone making $64k a year would, not like the senior engineer that they replaced that was probably pulling down $180k.
Old numbers, but look at the scale:

I know a muh Indian and they are not like this guy at all so saying they are all like this is hyperbolic. I work with two muh Indians and they smell great and don’t even pee on the toilet seat.
This whole cherry picking a non to evade the reality that the other 99% don’t fall exactly in line with this guy is all so tiresome.

There really are people here in the US who can do this work. It's a myth perpetuated by the major corporations to increase profit margins.
Also, doesn't it seem weird that if the H1B is to bring in professionals from around the world to work in a "specialty occupation", there isn't more diversity in the foreign labor pool? How come its 99.9% Indian? Why aren't there any specialists coming here from Argentina, Madagascar, Poland, Jordan, Greece, Norway, or the Philippines? Isn't it weird it's only folks from a really poor, overpopulated nation who desperately want to escape and will gladly work for peanuts?

What's tiresome is you and your ilk's need to be hyperbolic to make your point. I don't disagree that we need immigration reform. I don't disagree that we need to slow things to a trickle until we get our house in order. I don't need to say stupid shite like "all brown people think like this" to argue why those things are necessary.

You’re right, I’m being hyperbolic here, only roughly 15% of the 1.5 billion Indians pooped out in public over the last 24 hours.
I will reflect and try to be better moving forward. I now realize that claiming all Indians poop outside when in actuality it’s only roughly 225 million Indians pooping out in public everyday is unfair to this wonderful culture.
