Considering his ocular spacing is now FUBAR, that’s not possible.

I’ve never thought of it but can you use a good picture of someone to fool the face unlock feature?

Also the NSA already has all the data

If he used AT&T, so did whomever hacked their whole network.

They may not be able to get into the actual phone but I can guarantee they can pull call records and internet history from the telco’s. They can also follow his movements from his phone accessing cell towers. Don’t need to get into the phone for that info.

I've read where every cell phone's data is stored in a metadata server.

Some of it is. I pulled T-Mobile reports back in the early 2000s during my divorce and every phone number my ex called and text message that she sent or received was on it.

Can only imagine what's available now.

With phones it's always a race between Apple/Google and the Feds/Israel/hackers. The phone makers will come out with a new security coprocessor that no one can break for a while, then some Israeli firm will finally find a flaw and get in. These firms then sell access to LEOs. If Apple/Google are able to find out how they broke it, they will fix it and the race continues.

Of course, I am sure NSA has a backdoor from the factory, but the FBI won't normally have access to that kind of thing.

Yeah, I remember the same with several Muslim terrorists including the husband/wife combo in CA

Now, a J6'er, that's a whole different ball of wax there.

I would say try the facial recognition... but ehhhhh, I don't think that's going to work in this case since the lower left quadrant plus a little lagniappe is gone.

This J6er stuff is stupid.

None of them were found by hacking iPhones, I don't think.

Pings on cell towers and social media posts snared most of them. No hacking was necessary.

they geolocated using their phones. If on premises- arrested.

Your premise is bullshite. Hacking or using server data is the same thing.
