Are the board leftists really complaining about paying their fair share?

For those of us that live in the world of quarterly payments and K1's, it's not exactly that simple. Early estimates are I'm getting hit about 10% harder than last year. Not finalized yet, so there's a chance it will even out. But definitely not seeing any big change or windfall as a self-employed tax payer

My total Tax $400 higher this year on similar income. Refund $1200 less. Single home owner did not get tax cut.

The ultimate creator of individual income tax, in the US, was killed in a duel by the sitting VP of the USA.

I made about $9k more, had about $1k less withheld through the year without adjusting witholdings and I got slightly less back.
For you economically illiterate arse liberals, that’s a good thing.

Now, this is actually a decent post. There. Now you can feel warm and fuzzy about us again.

I think we should only pay taxes on 15 April every year.
Then people will see how insidious the tax scheme is.
Federal, state, FICA, Medicare, property tax, sales tax.
All of it should be due on April 15.

Have not read a post in this thread.
*Truth told here*
I am a salaried employee at 40k per year. No raise between the years. Standard deduction both years. Nothing has changed between 2017 & 2018 outside the difference of deductible interest paid on my home loan and student loans. Between the two it was around $300 deducted from my taxable income.
Basically as far as taxes go I made $300 more in 2018 vs 2017. That is at most 10% or $3. I will exclude this difference for simplicity and seriously who gives a damn about $3.
In 2017 I got back 1,312 Federal.
In 2018 I got back 1,273 federal.
That is a difference of $39 for the old tax system.
My weekly paycheck went from a *bring home of $511 a week to $533 a week.
That is $22 per week....x52 weeks = $1,171
So a gain of $1,171 throughout the year cost me $39 at tax time.
$1,171 More bring home
- $39 Tax Return Loss
----------
$1,132 gain for the year
Simple easy math for working class folks.

Yes it is.
The money that you get back is because you gave too much in taxes and they are refunding your money.
Hence, Tax Refund.

Wrong. The gubment allowed you to keep a little more money that you had already earned.

I didn't think this would be necessary to say but apparently it is
The irony, this coming from someone who does not understand the basic principles of taxes.

It is true for almost anyone unless they live in a high income tax state. Blame your state. Start electing tax cut officials if you are bent out of shape about your tax bill within your state.
In short order, all the high income tax blue states can choke on a bag of dicks for all I care.
Furthermore, I thought all you democrats wanted wealthy people paying more taxes. You got your wish.
