And I think heartfelt, thoughtful and reasoned appeals like this from former leftists are much more persuasive arguments for leftists to convert than coming from a conservative.
Statements like his coming from a conservative just comes off a preaching to them, but coming from a former leftist and someone who previously shared their views and has now “seen the light” is more persuasive.
