Real-time tracking of all citizens, in addition to what they can do with phones.
You know the 18 intelligence agencies we have in DC use all of this to track people like those dastardly Insurrectionists of Jan 6th.

As a criminal investigator for a mid size metropolitan department, I will tell you that license plate readers are a valuable tool for many criminal investigations.
Doesn't sound like it deters crime if you're using them for criminal investigations

Yeah I'd have to very confidently assume that the rate of deterrence of criminal activity based on the existence of traffic cameras is minuscule.

No, but there should be an expectation of anonymity unless you commit a crime. Tracking your movements is akin to an investigation. That shouldn’t happen without probable cause.
Put otherly, the government should not know who you are, unless it has a need to know. And it must demonstrate that need before proceeding.

City of Myrtle Beach has them at every road that comes into the city.. it is crazy what they can do with those cameras.

Unless you leave your cellphone at home, they're already doing this. Nothing new here. And with a camera inside and outside of every store and at every light, they've known where you're going for 10-15 years, at least.

These cameras have proven to reduce the crime rate.

No, the Government can’t protect everyone. Violent criminals are equally kept at bay when they fear their victims.

So allow me the freedom to defend myself.

With the rapid advances in tech. They will be able to track everyone in real time, and track them backwards in time too.
Plus everyone carries a monitoring device, which is always on, that can record audio.
It’s bad news.

There are private companies that that hire people to drive around in cars with license plate scanners. They typically cruise parking lots constantly collecting plate numbers and location data. It goes into a data base that they sell access to, there customers are car repo people, private investigators, bail bondsman, anyone that needs to find someone.

What this does is put more officers in a desk watching cameras instead of out policing and interacting with people in the neighborhoods. Solving crimes does nothing to prevent or deter future criminals without drastically reducing our private liberties.
