It's more than that.
Did any of y'all read the article? This isn't just renaming an airport...who cares about that? This is about Trump having diverted significant federal funds to modernize equipment at this airport in exchange for renaming it for the purpose of trademarking the name and profiting off of it.

I don't know if what you posted means that they got caught and backed off, or if there is a loophole that they will exploit. But the intent to profit was clear, otherwise the lawyers wouldn't have filed the trademark that way.

You do realize that it can be done to keep others from making merch and selling it once the airport is officially renamed? It seems to be a protective maneuver to continue to protect a brand that Trump spent 50+ years building. Trump has sold his naming rights for decades and unless he continues to protect it with legal trademarks, it can weaken his arguments to continue to protect it, letting others trademark it and abuse it.
You guys have zero clue how brand protections work
This isn't about making a few dollars off some mugs and tshirts in an airport gift shop but leave it to TDS libs to think so small
