I did some quick research and this is true, though there are refugee programs which could potentially be used.

Because the goal of a lot of Republicans is to associate all migrants with "bad hombres," terrorists, and other stereotypes when the reality is that most of them are trying to get away from those things. It feeds into the paranoia. And this thread reinforces that.
