THIS

This is the only way that things will ever change in this regards. It is my hope that someone with power can organize the conservative masses to hit these woke companies (and actors/actresses) where it hurts, the pocket book. They will change quickly. I've never understood the ignorance of a company coming out and alienating half of its potential customer base. Until we can hit back at that, it will continue. Trump would be great at organizing that movement.

This is so far over your head...that is unless you are truly woke, then I would get why you downplay the reality of what's happening in college football.

Carry on, just making sure this shite doesn't disappear on us. Legendary stuff.

It just feels trivial and meaningless when compared to other events.

You are expanding your Vision, U. If one expands their relative and subjective Vision to encompass the truly miraculous and wondrous scenario of Universal Creation and Human evolutionary growth, then most of the cultural norms of our current civilizational paradigm CAN be perceived as "trivial" when compared to that greater Visionary perspective.

However, such Perspective should ideally make this current and altogether unique and unparalleled civilization scenario all the more special, and interesting. There will always be the "Koyaanisquatsi" version.

For those players directly participating in the sport (I.e., COMPETITION) it is not trivial. Neither is Competition as such relates to the evolution and refinement of Human potential and perception. In fact, it is THE mechanism which has gotten Humanity to this astounding time, wherein we are on the precipice of a "giant leap forward for Mankind".

There is a fine perceptive balance between wonder and triviality, as such relates to both monumental "political events" - which are essentially Spiritual - and the seemingly mundane aspects of daily life. I suspect that when one can 'see' the wonder in the trivial, then that would be the ultimate form of perceptive 'Heaven'. And you won't have to "make myself interested".

Good luck U.

Absolutely. The WOKE-ism runs rampant at LSU especially. It's nauseating. I keep up with the scores, but to waste my money and time watching a 4 hour game with WOKE athletes and fans, hell no.

Didn't really lose interest as much as stopped wasting my time on it with all the BLM stuff and renaming buildings... Haven't missed it a bit and have more time and money available for things that are better uses of my time...

bullshite. You are watching LSU and you are watching the Saints. But, I'm sure your purist virtue signaling is maybe believed by a few posters.

Depriving myself? I don’t miss the shite in the slightest. I don’t even know the schedule or times. I knew we played bama bc of posts on FB but I didn’t have the slightest urge to tune in.

Nada.

Have lost interest in the past few years and can't remember when I've watched a complete game. Any time I do have a game on, it's on mute.

Well if Auburn were contending for title of some sort, I'd be more interested. But in general, yes I have lost interest. The whole thing - coaches salaries, NIL payments - it's not what I grew up with and my Hey Boomer-ness doesn't like it. Boosters and an F'd up NCAA has screwed up an "amateur" sport.

I've lost interest over the past few seasons due to the social and political pandering by the schools and players. I do continue to watch because it allows me to spend time with my son and discuss a few matters to help him see the truth behind a lot of this bullshite.

I definitely have. I use to base every Saturday in the fall around games. Would have multiple tvs set up with games going on. Has easily saved me $15k+ a year too. I do miss the travel to big games at stadiums/cities I haven't been too before, but is what it is.

The million dollar nil deals are ruining it for sure. What that TX QB did with getting 1mil to skip his sr yr to go to OHST, and then leave there to go to TX for 3-4mil, is destructive. Then the 8mil deal for a QB coming out this yr...that's nuts. No end in sight.

I wish the NCAA a total death. I hope major programs break off and create an official minor league for the NFL, and then schools that just can't run with the big boys commit to being traditional programs. Then I can find a way to support a school in the way I use too. Just want to see traditional CFB again. Heck bring back the basic Jefferson Pilot level broadcasting with local gas station beef jerky commercials.

If we end up with two leagues, the pros and the traditional college football teams, I'll probably watch some college football again. I don't have a moral issue with mercenary players who have some vague relationship to the school, it just doesn't interest me for the same reason the NFL doesn't interest me. You're cheering a guy one year and the next year one of the Bigs buys him so you cheer against him. It's weird.
