You just can't remember the 'Beto' effect in 2018 with no Trump on the ballot, and see Cruz still win by 2.5% and imagine there is any way he loses this one to Allred. Beto was like a god back then, and the media fawned all over him. That is not happening now with Allred, and I just can't see how he loses. Sure you have commercial after commercial but it's actually working against him at this point.
I had a liberal friend tell me yesterday that even thought he's voting for Allred if he had to watch his ads for much longer he'd personally want to punch him in the face.
Cruz wins because people are sick of the incredible amount of outside $$ being spent to prop up Allred.

I voted for Cruz yesterday, just like I did in 2018. And just like in 2018, I expect he will barely hang on for his political life and win reelection by the skin of his teeth.
That being said......
There is something really wrong with a candidate who can only eke out razor-thin wins in Texas. The other Texan senator, John Cornyn, doesn't have this problem - he wins his Senate races by big margins.
I wish we had two Cornyns instead of one Cornyn and one Cruz.

The whole abandoning the state thing during the freeze was pretty bad. And people who know him irl have said he’s just kind of a douche bag. I don’t have anything against him really. I was on a flight with him a few years ago and I walked with him and his security through IAH to the gate and he was heckled with by a lot of people.
