not really. this is in large part a post '60s phenomenon

Before that, college professors were seen as old fuddy-duddies devoted to the Classics. American versions of Oxford dons.

The student protests of the '60s began to change this. Affirnative Action took off in earnest, as colleges added Black Studies dep'ts just to get black faces on the faculty ASAP

Starkville being somewhat liberal is crazy to me. But they have had students try to join ISIS so it’s not that shocking I guess

More than half the student body is from out os state with a large number from above the Mason Dixon line.
A current UA professor told me 5% of the student body is from California.
UA is not at all like most of you guys think, in fact I would say it’s very liberal.
This is not your father’s Bama.

It’s not really. County is in the black belt region of MS. 35% black population that votes 95% D. You only need about 25% of whites to vote D to go blue

It’s not liberal in the way that Austin, Tx is. More like the same reason Baton Rouge votes D

Do Nashville

You know that is the location of Vanderbilt? Hence it is already done on this list.

If you want to do cities that are not SEC towns/counties, be my guest.

https://www.bestplaces.net/

Enter city/state in the search bar. Go down the left navigation to politics & voting. Copy/Paste information.

I did The University of Michigan for shits and giggles.

The political climate in Ann Arbor, MI is strongly liberal.

Washtenaw County, MI is very liberal. In Washtenaw County, MI 72.4% of the people voted Democrat in the last presidential election, 25.9% voted for the Republican Party, and the remaining 1.6% voted Independent.

In the last Presidential election, Washtenaw county remained overwhelmingly Democratic, 72.4% to 25.9%.
Washtenaw county voted Democratic in every Presidential election since 2000.

This right here. East Baton Rouge voting 42.5% Republican when the parish is over 50% black. Almost split exactly along the races with how people vote.

I had a friend with the CIA, rip, who lived here in Trinidad. I read where Gina Haspel, head of the CIA was coming to speak at Auburn and I mentioned it to him. He said "she aint speaking...she is recruitin".

He said think about it, full of conservative folks, God, country, guns, and very good IT/computer degrees. After all we call our training facility "the farm".

Okay even I had to laugh at that one.
