My wife has always been “based”; however, she now is active in obtaining her own knowledge and not just listening to me.
My gay (31 y/o) son held an election watch party with heterosexual friends that included t-shirts with Trump wearing shades.
My straight (28 y/o) daughter is about as based as can be and only dates conservative, God-fearing young men. She is six months in a relationship now that, based on him and his family, I would be thrilled if it turned long term.

I’ll m thankful my wife (that’s what this thread was about before it was hijacked) is handling it well. She’s determined to hold to her principles and he will gave to come around. He hasn’t spoken to her in almost a year. A weaker woman would have bent. Thankful she can still see the big pic because that’s not most womens strong suit. She’s strong as an oak!

Same boat here with a 24 year old. We won't pander to his ideology but also don't want to drive him away. His two parents are the only people in his life that are no nonsense and believe in common sense.
He is an adult so at this point all we can do is continue to present common sense without being off putting or confrontational.

My wife is more based than me. And I'm full right. And my 25 year old daughter is more based than both of us. No libs taking her out.

We don’t understand it at all.
He called me last week after I’d had a minor wreck. He was very emotional and broke down on the phone about 5 minutes in about how he had handled losing contact with everyone. He had to go so. I called for several days afterward to keep contact and he was aloof when I finally got him. I found out 10 minutes into the phone call that his wife was listening on speakerphone and that’s the only way he could talk to us.
I just don’t understand how people can think that’s normal behavior.

My other 4 kids are MAGA. My daughter just graduated Tech in English technical writing and Spanish and is as based as can be. She dodged all the super liberal professors at Tech and came out strong as ever.
