If we were that close to some sort of catastrophic period, I think the Right would be doing more than bitching and warehousing ammo they’ll never use.
Let me ask you an honest question - if you really think the end of the republic is around the corner, what are you doing about it? Seems to me “the end is near” is a big time for action.
ETA - and don’t get me wrong, I think we need to start becoming politically and economically engaged like we haven’t been in decades. My point is we’re not in such a desperate place that it can’t be fixed.
On the contrary the realization that we’re doing so little in proportion to the threat is a sign in and of itself that the country could be lost due to complacency. In other words the lack of response isn’t a sign that we’re good.
- Becoming more vocal with people I know, trying to wake them up
- Working with a group to start an actual movement. Peaceful in nature I assure. Admittedly we’re just tossing around ideas at this stage. Obviously odds of launching or success are low. But doing can
I agree w your third paragraph. It’s not impossible to fix, just looks unlikely. I’m sure you know the right time to fire a manager.. It’s not always because he did things that are wrong as in the same way you’d fire an hourly worker. It’s when you realize his chances of succeeding are effectively zero. You can project the trend line already at that point. For us, when you realize society is no longer legitimizing a single thing pointed out by conservatives really tells you the pieces are in place for the society to go adrift

Gonna reply to another aspect of this. Can you show how our clearly better state of progress now compared to then shields us from pending failure?

We should consider why this is the case. IMO it’s a self-inflicted wound. We have a dearth of leadership on the Right. That’s our own fault. Not the result of society going adrift. And again, it’s imminently fixable.

I think this is happening all over. Finally. And From a million brainstorming sessions come a hundred thousand “let’s try this” which result in a thousand efforts that gain a little traction and 100 that end up making a difference. IMO this is the key. I’m actually surprised one or a few of these kinds of efforts haven’t been spawned on this site. There are a lot of rally smart and resourceful people that haunt this place.

You’re correct on the leadership. I would also argue society going adrift. In my opinion victimology is the mechanism. The whole effort of the woke/SJW looks on the outside to be lifting up segments of society, but primary purpose is to delegitimize the “privileged”. Then back to the leadership, they are too afraid to stand up to it.

A diversion. A big shiny hook to snag useful idiots that keep every one so busy with that nonsense that we don’t notice what’s actually going on. I don’t think it’s an accident that wokism and victimology really hit its stride when corporate America got spooked by the occupy Wall Street, the 1% BS and Bernie rhetoric.
I think our so-called leaders will stand up if we make them.

I’m in agreement with that. They’ve mired us in a cultural war. I’ve seen the timelines showing tail end of OWS lining up with increases of ‘systemic racism’ in the news and it’s pretty compelling. Just like the George Carlin speech. Ultimately still, millions of conservatives have to rise up against their fears of being called a racist or Uncle Tom or bigot or whatever to stand up and fight the battle we’re in to win the war overall

Short of a spiritual revival and our nation turning back to God, the trajectory of the good ole US of A will continue on its slide into the trash bin of history.
Cultural marxism combined with just plain economic marxism are handing us directly into the hands of our elitist overloards be they foreign or domestic.

We’ll be alright
yep = the human race will be the only specie in the history of the universe that chose to evolve toward unfitness. As time goes on, as we select to propagate more unfit progeny, we will soon breed out the genetics for belief in a higher power to control our momentary pleasure.
That will generate another specie of insect where social order is established at birth - you either are queen bee or a worker bee and all bees are perfectly happy with that. And that is if we are lucky with genetic mutations.
We could just breed ourselves into extinction with the last sniveling representative lying in its own feces while it starves to death waiting on someone to come by and feed it.
But it will be happy - because it has no mentality that permits thought.

I agree but for different reasons.
There are thousands of people crossing the southern border from Africa daily. With them will come a disease the likes of which we've never seen, nor will we be able to treat it. Think hemorrhagic fevers and uncontrollable bleeding. Think disseminated intravascular coagulation with no treatment. Think Ebola but instead of it being passed by contact with bodily fluids, it'll be passed by droplets, airborne, and common contact. It'll be the boogeyman.
And it's going to kill 2 billion people.

Well said and I concur.
If you want to see the future take a look at the past. We are not immune to civil war in America happening again.

I have two sons in law who are in the military, one is a Capt in the army, the other is a Gunnery Sgt in the 5th Marines. Both served 3 combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.
I just spent a week out at Camp Pendelton and I didn't see anyone out of shape, I saw hundreds of marines that would kick your arse up and down the west coast for calling them lazy and fat.
I'd be curious to your Gunny Sgt. SiL's take on current leadership's focus on diversity, wokeness, etc. and it's impact on morale and recruiting. I've heard different things about morale but may need to wait on recruiting data.
