What is keeping you from voting for DeSantis?

If he wins the Primary I will.

Can you say the same if Trump wins it?

rmnldr says he will not...who else joins the club?

That’s not at all what I said, leave the quotes off.

This thread is about Ron’s campaign, not a comparison of the two campaigns. And my belief is if you let every conversation about Ron’s campaign turn into it, he doesn’t have a shot.

quote:

Literally in the last 3 days Trump attacks him saying desantis is colluding with the DOJ, enables pedophiles, and makes fun of his ground game effort.’ Desantis does not respond

I’m not sure that’s exactly what was said, but Ron not responding is exactly what I’m saying should be his strategy.

What makes this even more wild is how many times we point it out and he still refuses to acknowledge it.

What’s wild is that there is a faction of Ron supporters that believe they can get the W if they just follow the left’s playbook of obsessing over Trump. Because it is a losing strategy.

This has been answered multiple times, you just don’t like the answer.

Based on anonymous sources. The Trump people were using it against DeSantis before he announced

Thanks. Again, I'll double check. I thought this was confirmed but maybe I was mistaken.

In an interview with Hannity:
quote:

Gov. Ron DeSantis says he won't run for president because he's busy 'trying to make sure people are not supporting critical race theory'

No mention of Trump...and that was in 2021 so things change.

I like DeSantis. But the fact that he got into the race shows a lack of awareness. Trump is unlike any other political figure in my lifetime (45.). DeSantis was never going to beat him and it has only further divided us.

I wish he would've stayed put, allowed Trump another shot, and then be ready in '28. Trumpers would've jumped on board at that point and I feel he would've had a real shot.

Now I'm even less optimistic about the future...hope I'm wrong.

The problem with that is Trump has almost no chance of winning the General and anyone that understands electoral politics can see that. Most of the criticisms of DeSantis' campaign are also from people that simply don't understand how the process works and what is important at this stage. The public by and large isn't paying attention yet and with all the media about the indictments there is nothing DeSantis can do to grab the headlines. That will change as we near the primaries. People don't choose in July the year before an election who they will vote for.

You also have the Trump campaign and MSM trying very hard to get DeSantis out of this race because he has the best chance of winning. The reality is though that DeSantis is focused on ground game and fundamental politics not trying to make a big splash. Part of his appeal is he isn't Trump and yet most of the criticism of him is that he isn't Trump. If DeSantis tried to go be a Rockstar celebrity candidate he would look awkward at best and just a poor copy of Trump at worst.

I also think most Trump supporters don't realize just how broke Trump is, most people don't. He is WAY behind where he needs to be in fundraising and he doesn't have his big donors like before. He also has a massive drag in his funding with the lawsuits. So his only chance is keeping the free media which for now is cooperating and giving him as much oxygen as they can. The most comical thing is people acting like talking about how Biden charging Trump with crimes somehow helps DeSantis. Lol.

They are making Trump into the victim which plays huge in the Primaries but will be toxic in the General, especially when they start asking him the 2 questions that will destroy his campaign.

1. What happened to the $250 million you raised for Stop the Steal?

2. If elected, do you plan to pardon yourself or let the Justice system run its course without interference?

Now to a Trump supporter you may think that's all fine but to anyone else those are serious problems. It's setting him up for a Barry Goldwater style beatdown.

Fortunately though we have time and DeSantis isn't panicking. In fact he is getting better and more disciplined. He's crushing these interviews and I expect he will do well at the Debate. He's already knocked on a million doors and that's only growing. He's playing the long game.

Still, Trump could definitely win and is the favorite right now but as much as people want to act like this is over it really hasn't started.

It’s 100% what was said and what is routinely said by Trump. His attacks have been relentless and vile.

Desantis has virtually never responded. Whenever he does it’s extremely mild and the loons on here FREAK.

Say what you want about the Poliboard.

5 pages in 2 hours starting at 6:30am is solid.

I wish we could channel our energy into something productive.

Yes, those are serious questions. I know a couple of the issues he ran on, but I don't remember anything about him claiming that he would attack those responsible. What and who are you talking about?

I don’t know those people. What’s clear is that the most vocal supporters of Ron on this board require you to attack Trump incessantly, or you don’t get in the club.
