Whoever talked Trump into this EO is the inside leaker

It was Rand Paul but not specifically on subsidies. Mostly on "state lines".

Umm, the EO simply directed HHS to follow the court ruling that said $7 billion in health insurance subsidies shall not be given to them without congressional appropriations per Article 1. The Dems and the MSM are spinning it as Trump is removing subsidies in order to sabotage Obamacare. No, the EO is simply instructing his administration to follow the court order.

I know I'm replying to myself in this post but it's meant for everyone.

I'm happy to see that this proposal to rescue insurance subsidies is already dead. Trump's positive lip service yesterday scared me.

I think it's important to note why the "subsidies" are necessary.

They are needed to artificially keep premiums low.

Part of the problem we have in our health care system and was started with HMOs is that people are disconnected from the true cost of healthcare.

By artificially lowering premiums and deductibles we are encouraging more wasteful utilization.

That's ridiculous. If true no one could afford health insurance.

Even our republican governor here in Ark. said in the paper this morning that Trump is wrong with stopping the subsidies. Hutchinson said 4,000 people out of 3000,000 in the state will lose cheap coverage.

Well Asa, cry me a river. In the same article you support Trump for wanting to replace the ACA and then chastise him for doing something. You might have just lost a couple of votes today.

That bill was never going to happen.

He voiced support, knowing it was DOA.

This is just not a serious post. That would make a $10/month policy now cost $8366/month. Did you mean 3-5%?

And there were no $10/month policies in 1997
