I agree, Trump has doled at massive amounts of farm welfare to those guys since starting the trade war with china. The only possible reason you could have a significant split is they question whether the welfare will keep flowing.

that came from the tariffs on CHina so it didn't cost us anything

"honest" omission I'm sure

They knew the tariffs were necessary short term pain to correct the Previous decades of China profiting off the US worker.

I wonder why.....

Without reading anything more than your thread title, I just popped in to tell you that I am calling bullshite. I am not guessing, hoping, or praying. I am telling you that it is completely wrong.

Farming families want to be able to afford to keep their families farming their land into the future. The progressive agenda offers only impediments to that through taxation, regulation, and anti American trade agreements.

Same people who were ultimately paying for politicians’ families making millions under the table. At least one is transparent and not enriching enabling worthless crackhead degenerates.

It’s hard to believe anyone would still try and tout a myth that anything close to “free trade” was ever existing with a place like China given what we now know.

Weird way to say the "American Consumer".

Who's touting that in this thread? I'm willing to have a convo about whether a trade war with China is worth having, but pretending that there's no cost and that the farm welfare was paid for by tariffs and that tariffs are somehow free or paid for by China (or political elites) is just stupid and/or dishonest.

Traditional Americans are pumped and waiting for viable Media which serves their Ideological vent. Fox used to be that cable tv entity...but when "fair and balanced" means that said Entity covers outright, pernicious and dangerous lies with respect - as though such lies deserve respect - is a ludicrous principle upon which to build one's enterprise.

If Trump wins, the Media monopolies will be toppled, and new competitors allowed in the public sphere. If a fraudulent election is tolerated like the 'Muh Russia' and 'Impeachment' bs...then God only knows where it goes. To the street for sure.

Farmers for Biden...hell, they won't be able to pay for the diesel to run the tractors.

Do you think one of these frameworks is more representative of “free trade” than the other? What is your solution for creating a framework of free trade with a partner who essentially has no concept of it?

The trade war has very little to do with the market conditions which farmers face. The 2008 crash led to the 2010 commodity crash. All the pink tide countries were tide to the commodity markets.

I'm not against bringing the trade issue with China to a head and think Covid exposed the folly of having so much critical mfg located in one country, especially a country at odds with our values.

That being said, the conversation was about farm welfare, which trump has rained on farmers as a reason that there likely isn't a split in farm votes (going Trump). I did offer one possible explanation for the possibility of a split - concern about continuing the welfare. Thereafter, a poster suggested the welfare was free because tariffs. Again, stupid or dishonest. You then followed-on with, at least acknowledging tariffs aren't free or paid by China, but suggested only the political elite pay the tariffs. Stupid or dishonest - you pick.

I live on a farm. We raise cattle and have 2 donkeys.

I also grow some marijuana (legal personal use). I would get in line today to vote on Tuesday if I had to. Trump is the man.

Honestly, I think they are trying to keep Trump supporters energetic thru the election....by passing them off
We don't need a single republican to be complacent
