Unknowingly?

I just created a new pagan religion. The way you worship the Great Ambulator is by walking. Anyone who walks is knowingly, or unknowingly, worshiping my god.

Carry on.

Excellent "Mrs. Boucher" example.

This all depends on who's wearing them.

Ice cream?

And yoga can keep a woman's arse looking 22 well into her 40s. I'm willing to overlook a lot for that.

The whole idea of yoga meditation is not the Western idea of contemplating "something" ... but to clear the mind completely.

If you think about it, this is what the praying of the Rosary helps to do. Repetition thinking about the stations of the cross for example, helps to clear the mind. When you clear the mind, you are at peace. As peace is your natural state without all the other horrible things in the world interfering with it.

Same with Hinduism and other forms of mystical Christianity and even Islam (in the form of Sufism .. not their stupid, insane and murderous forms of fundamentalism, like Sunni and Shia -- these are actually political entities and not spiritual if you really look into them). Yoga has nothing to do with contacting "spirits" as if that could even be done anyways.

Yoga, if done correctly (and we're not talking about posing and wearing yoga pants), helps with spirituality and daily life. But as a fashion is as vapid as anything else that is done as a fad.

Excellent assessment, GD, IMO.

"To the pure, all things are pure". If one's Spiritual motivation is righteous, then the mechanisms applied to serve said Spiritual narrative is as well. "One eateth herbs...one eatheth not".

God created Humanity in service to Love, as Love is perfected when there is more than (the) One. Albeit the limitations of limited Lifeforms became a default 'imperfection' in the creative dynamic. Throw in 'free will', and off we go into the 'necessary evil' night, as Lucifer (the 'Idea') accuses God of acting from a narcissistic impetus. I.e., its own egotistical gratification. Foolishness on its face, as a Singular/Unlimited Entity would have no such possibility.

Regardless, as one moves out of the Empirical reality and into the Spiritual version, then the Spirits which hold sway in that realm come into play. IMO, that is reason that a Spiritual aspirant needs a 'guide/guardian' of sorts, in case the mud on the explorative wall don't stick. Mistakes - when one is in a more powerful and subjective place - can be costly and painful. Jesus (assuming such is real) supposedly offers this service, as 'Savior, with a promise of "the Comforter/Holy Spirit of Truth". Or one can wing it, on their own assessments.

I don't think Yoga is any more demonic than Life. It will ultimately be what one makes it, via a free-willed, educated choice as opposed to the ignorant version.

I'm not saying we should be turning over every stone trying to find the devil in everything. There is some grey area in the world, that may not be as cut and dry as something outwardly evil or sinister, say like murder or rape.

I think the over-arching point here is, assuming one is a prefessed Christian and believes Jesus Christ is their savior and redeemer, is that the onus is on the Christian to dive into Scripture and the teachings of the Church, if they are Catholic to get into Catechism and writings on the subject, go to Confession and repent, and not to merely take it from someone on a message board or a podcast. But to do the work, pray and meditate on it, and let the Holy Spirit guide you.

Ultimately God wants all his children to come to him. On something like "yoga" or other new age practices, the "demon" critique likely won't stick with someone who is a non-believer, but if you are believer and practicing Christian, you should seriously consider these practices may be putting your soul at risk from unwanted guests becoming attached. Hopefully in doing so, you become stronger in your faith in that process, or maybe a family member who has been doing this or other activities, and may just need someone to bring them up to speed on what they may be doing, and to consider praying on it.

Not really. In both instances, you're living apart from God. Otherwise known as living in hell.

I took a yoga class about 10 years ago naïvely thinking it would just be stretching and such. My dumbass didn’t realize it was a power yoga/ body building class. I’ve never done so many damn pushups and sit ups from ridiculous angles in my life. I legit thought I was gonna die.

I am with you on this. Keep up the fight. People should at least know what they are doing when they practice Yoga. Thanks for the OP. I also listen to this podcast. Spiritual Warfare can bring people to the Church, I hope it does for you.

Romans 14:14 says nothing is unclean in and of itself, which is why when you’re at the top of a push up, or plank pose, you are not worshiping Satan. No if you bring in the chants, focus on different energies, or worship Hindu gods while you’re doing the yoga poses, then it is demonic I agree.

Some of these Christian influencers and podcasters try to scare people because they know if they do then they are hooked, eating out of their hand as far as clicks or buying whatever they’re selling. Heaven’s gates Hell’s flames was big into that method when I was growing up, and motivated bunch of people to come forward and profess that Jesus is Lord. But did it stick once the fear went away?

Oh so unenlightened.

The Bible basically says that if you pray to a rock, eventually a demon will show up to soak up that praise.

So I'd say you're out of your league in this discussion. Stick to protesting for women to have more abortions.

Another type of demon worship, btw

Not even if they have a podcast called the Exorcist Files and charge 7 dollars a month for premium service?
