I mean if I had your background I would have been curious about this as soon as they announced the plans to use the mRNA method. But, OK.

5-7 years? Just asking.

I do because I spend a ton of time outside and the chances of me getting a little scratch and subsequent contact with Clostridium tetani are pretty high. I could easily isolate Clostridium tetani from the dirt in your backyard. It’s everywhere.

However your question is a good one in terms of why we have good immune memory for things like chicken pox, mumps, measles, Epstein Barr (mono), etc. and terrible immune memory for other pathogens (viral or bacterial).

With Israel and Iceland as exceptions.

Here is the information about the pneumonia vaccine from the CDC. LINK

Note how reasonable they are in terms of explaining risk among age groups and underlying medical conditions for the pneumonia vaccine. From a public policy messaging point of view compared to the COVID vaccine it comes off as a lot more reasonable.

But you are not immune. Herein lies one of the major problems of the fake "vaccine".

see one problem with general statements like this are when exceptions are made anti-vaxxers go apeshit even if theres a perfectly reasonable explanation. Generally you boost TdaP every 5-7 years, except moms gets a booster each pregnancy or high risk injury modality regardless of 5-7 year period.

its not exactly appropriate to compare chicken pox to covid vax... they have different infective/defense/recognition pathways. we annually vaccinate ~1/2 the country every flu season... needing boosters or anything isn't new, dangerous, or scary.

your problem is with thinking immunity is 100% all or nothing. you can have immunity, and it can still be overwhelmed. you are immune its just not a harry potter immortality incantation.

getting the vaccine might be the difference in keeping 1000 troops instead of 0 while evacuating the military before the citizens out of Afghanistan. it wouldnt have solved the problem entirely but would reduce the taliban victory while greatly mitigating american loss.

instead, just worry if the vaccine will kill you ten years down the road!

Or you are displaying independent thought. Research who owns the intellectual property for the Moderna vaccine.

You will feel even better about your stance.

Chicken pox is 2 shots. Hep b is 3 shots. Rabies is 2-4 shots depending on if you’ve been exposed before or if it’s pre or post exposure. Tetanus needs boosters every 5-7 years.

MMR is 2 shots.

So none

Your most “regular” one is nearly once a decade

These are not always working. I have had three rounds of the Hep B vaccine and my titer shows zero immunity. No antibodies whatsoever. I had chicken pox as a child, titer is still showing immunity 60 years later. Had the rabies shots back in the day, 14 shots, 1 a day in the abdomen for 14 days when I was 6 years old. That was not pleasant. Point is, none of these vaccines nor the Covid vaccine is guaranteed. It would seem that natural antibodies would be the preferred.

we only need to look at the difficulty our medical researchers have dealt with trying to find effective treatments for the common cold

We do not have a treatment for the common cold for two reasons:

1. There are over 200 viruses that cause it.

2. It's symptoms are so mild that it does not need treating. Pedialyte and Campbell's chicken noodle soup are all you need.

It is quite difficult to find safe and effective treatments for covid. That is why we are encouraging people to get vaccinated.

Immune system can handle a virus that has infected 38 million americans and killed 600,000 of them.

Immune system can't handle a vaccine that 163 million American's have taken, and, according to VAERS, a system which anyone can submit a claim to, about 9300 people have died after being vaccinated.

Just doing the math is makes perfect sense why you would avoid the vaccine.

That's because the virus is still active in your system. It is the source of shingles which are infuriatingly painful and persistent. Yeah, there's a vaccine for that, but it knocks some people for a loop.

It's definitely not a vaccine in the traditional sense, but I believe the word vaccine is being used to make it more palatable to the general public. If it was being called what it is, novel gene therapy, its quite possible participation rates would be considerably lower

If the mRNA is destroyed in the cytoplasm it’s not due to an intracellular immune response. It may be due to an intercellular immune response from T-cells (but I still fail to see the mechanism for that…but not ruling it out).

Are you saying that there’s no intracellular innate immune response?
