According to your link $1,148 is a plan with only $250K in dwelling coverage, $125K in personal property coverage and $200K in liability coverage. Most homes that burned were worth millions, their plans were higher, I'm pretty sure. Also per your link, a policy with $100K in dwelling coverage costs an average of $602 annually, while a policy covering $500K in dwelling coverage jumps to an average of $2,081 annually.
Ultimately the problem with the Californian situation is that the state if full of a bunch of babies and the party alignment makes no difference.
Californians want to live in an area that is naturally at wildfire risk without a large presence of human civilization but they don't want to pay what it would take with their own time and money to do what is necessary to prevent it. However they expect their state government to just make the negative effects of that not happen.
Yeah, these people are just tittybabies.

James not happy what State Farm did.
Woods didn’t pay a homeowner’s insurance premium and his house did not burn down.
Sounds like this guy gambled big time and came out ok.
Why is he bitching?

Because people died. This was his neighborhood and he’s been in so many movies and has so many friends. And his friends and neighborhood burned up due to negligence by incompetent politicians.
One thing he does is speak out. And he has been speaking out for years. Maybe his voice can help change peoples voting patterns. Instead of running away he stays and fights.
He reposted a recall petition and with his reach maybe it helps push them out.

Guess where the LA Rams are playing their playoff game tonight?
STATE FARM stadium in Glendale, AZ.
Can't make this stuff up.

So if people in California vote Republican, State Farm won't be permitted to charge a premium commensurate with the risk? Or won't be permitted to cancel policies?
Your cult-think is broken this morning.

USAA, generally, is the most generous with its customers, but State Farm was very good to us after Katrina. So, maybe it varies depending on the circumstances.

Well unlike the Governor and Mayor, State Farm saw the writing on the wall that the State's mismanagement would bankrupt them after the Malibu fires....they weren't waiting around for the inevitable 2nd Round.

I can tell you haven’t read the thread.
The policies to help control fires and have dams full in fire season and other water related policies will be better under new leadership. This will reduce fires and presto, insurance companies can write policies again knowing there is competent leadership. Thats the goal.
Now, it may never happen because Dims are fully entrenched in Cali offices. But it used to be a red state at one time and maybe this can trigger people to start waking up to the leftist incompetence.
