I understand the sentiment, Kash has the task of rebuilding an agency. Part of that rebuilding is the trust that America has in the FBI. So trying to be out in the front in the public is part of that process.
Now if it were up to me, I would disband the FBI and portion out it's assets to other agencies. The FBI (especially being located in DC) has always had a reputation for being a political motivated agency. So Kash might be doing the right thing now, but down the road the abuse will creep back in.
