Sorry to hear someone is ill. He is probably m a lot of anxiety due to being placed in charge of an unconstitutional impeachment. Things like this will take its toll on a person and Leahy is not young.

Not his style. Seems like a power move to me, which is totally Mitch’s style.
As you correctly point out - Mitch DGAF about what people who actually live in the US want or need, whether that’s Kentucky or Vermont. Mitch is about Mitch. And Mitch likes to run the Senate. This is a way for Mitch to run the Senate.
Anyway. Poor Leahy is just in the hospital. Let’s see what shakes out. But considering that this RINO is currently the Governor of Vermont bc the PPL in Vermont think a RINO is better than socialism, I
will keep a little restored faith in the USA’s ability to make it out of this mess - and hope for the best.

He should have been wearing two masks , if we’re to believe Dr. Fauci now.

the MSM news are all saying the on call doc was called in; and out of an abundance of caution he was taken to the hospital.
they are also all saying, he has just gotten sworn in to impeach Trump.
so dramatic. it is illegal to impeach a former President so he didn't need sworn in.
who is next in line for their circus?

I agree.
For as pure a pragmatic political animal he is, Mitch is also quite the ideologue and will do whatever it takes to achieve his political goals and doesn't give a single shite who's toes he steps on.
He only acts in his political interests and nothing more than that.
However, Mitch should not be surprised when Phil Scott tends to his own political interests and declines to make him Senate Majority Leader again.

If you're a conservative living in Vermont, a vichy RINO republican like Phil Scott is about the best you could hope for compared to what democrats get into office there.
You should keep that in mind when thinking about the prospects of him appointing a republican to Leahy's seat.

I’m not saying it’s an improvement for me personally - it’s probably no difference whether it’s Leahy or some RINO. Plus God knows what kind of lunatic those diehards will nominate to run against whatever RINO Mitch strong arms Gov RINO to appoint. The same freaked out Vermont ppl that voted in an R, could stick with one noncommunist Senator

Trumpicide ? Leafy just didn’t know how winning works so he was overcome by it

Wouldn't that be poetic fricking justice.
Hope it happens.

Leahy is one of those guys who if he were on Fire I'd have trouble deciding which octane of gasoline I would throw on the fire.
I hold NO sympathy or empathy when it comes to that person

If Phil Scott were to appoint a Republican to fill that seat the Democrats would take to the streets in revolt.Do you think we should set up machine guns to mow them down?
You can bet your arse, Scott would appoint a Republican to replace Leahy. It would give that person a better chance to win the election to permanently fill the seat.
The Irony Meter continues to spin out of control....
