Embarrassment is a country where no dissent is allowed
The problem is dissent is permitted, but if all you're doing is talking shite and you have no real vision or solution, THEN it becomes embarassing.

Republicans thought they could say the right things and count on your vote.
They never expected to have to produce results just entertainment for an America that has gotten too fat and happy to have real political issues worth fighting over.
It worked most of my lifetime, but with something like this the moment it stops working it’s all over.

I don't get why people are saying this is bad or embarrassing. What's bad and embarrassing about not rubber stamping a nominee?
GOP "leadership" that failed to fight a 1.7 trillion dollar Omnibus bill loaded with pork, woke graft and fuel for more inflation. A leadership that didn't even read the damn thing's 4000 pages but rolled over without even a whimper.

Nothing, but the leftists take it as a sign of weakness because they are used to the D's voting in lock-step with one another, voting however Pelosi instructs them...which is pretty ironic coming from the same people that constantly squawked about Trump being a dictator, ain't it!

I said this earlier. Jeffries could tell some of his caucus to vote for McCarthy and make him Speaker....and let him know they made him speaker. Effectively neutering him and emasculating the Freedom Caucus and using it as a way to gain a Democrat majority and he becomes speaker in 2025 or the de facto speaker starting now.
He has low to moderate risk if he does this right now. With such a slim majority, Republicans, GOPe and Freedom Caucus types, have more to worry about.

They don’t have to go that far. Just less have to vote for Jeffries and that would change the threshold for how many votes McCarthy needs.

Easy exercise, just imagine if Pelosi lost nine straight votes. Would you say the Democrats are saving America or would you point and laugh?

Well, they are laughing.
Just like we would if the squad would be holding Nancy from being SOH and making the dems look like a bunch of idiots.

Pretty embarrassing to McCarthy. You can't lead people who don't want to follow (and who don't trust) you.

Both examples are a big part of what is wrong with modern policies. Too many people on both sides look to it for entertainment not solutions.

I will never understand why people care what democrats think.
They are worthless trash.

"embarrassment"
The dems nominating Hakeem Jeffries as Speaker.

Also frankly it is giving everyone a civics lesson. Between this an 2020 election now every CNN viewer knows 20x more how their government works than they did before. It’s like the government class they should have gotten in high school if that wasn’t the class the “coach” technically taught to stay within state laws.
Most Dim voters are still not paying attention....they only know when it's time to vote go straight ticket Blue.

pretend they're intellectually consistent
Agree with that 100%.
TBH... I really didn't follow politics until 2015. So, I personally am still learning a ton. Admittedly, I am only a professional in what I do for work. I didn't start engaging necessarily to support Trump at that time but it was the constant droning on EVERY SINGLE channel of how bad that orange man was. So I pushed back through media. I was a long time Redditor because of DIY, Hobbies, etc... I loved ESPN and liked Late Night shows. At the time I never gave 2 shits about the modern Tea Party or Occupy WS.
So to say, pseudo-intellectualism is a byproduct of a right wing echo chamber is a broad brush to paint with. There are a ton outrage hustlers out there, some on this board - so I agree with your sentiment but not your reasoning.
Example, I love Ben Shapiro, Jordan Peterson, and Handel on the Law. Ben is probably my favorite podcaster and I disagree with him probably 15% of the time. It's hard to disagree with his numbers but I don't always subscribe to his takes.
Same with Trumps persona vs his actual policies. I really, really liked many of his policies but didn't like his bluster or caving on the Omnibus, bump stocks, and some of the shite he's doing now. At the end of the day, everything I served and grew up believing is being trashed and it has ZERO to do with religion. I am a VERY poor example of a Christian and I do NOT preach from the pulpit. I usually rail on the things where I can walk the walk.
My point is people on this board can be repetitive with some of their rhetoric, but it's hardly an echo chamber. People on this board are all over the place. If you want examples of an echo chambers I can link several.

I would be concerned that they want someone more radical than she is. The ONLY criticism the left has of Joe Biden is that he is not leftist enough. I can't even wrap my mind around that.

No offense but you are very naive
