I don’t think anyone here is arguing the logic and reasoning for not hiring the guy, simply applauding the american free market system in action. You have the right to protest, and a random dude has the right to tell your dad to piss up a rope and not hire him if he doesn’t like it.

I don't believe spence for a second BTW.
I believe he knows his father, and I believe he didn't get a contract...I just don't think it had shite to do with his fat arse taking a knee
But I hope it's true

People are going to start being denied all kinds of services and opportunities based on party affiliation now.
Of all the disingenuous crap that gets posted on this site, this is Hall of Fame material.
Look at the reaction since Election Day and tell me that the "party affiliation retribution" crap is anything close to symmetrical. The left has completely lost its mind since then. I still remember all the articles about Clintonistas that refused to spend holidays with family that voted for Trump. Ivanka and her kids were berated on a flight for doing nothing more than sitting there. A columnist wrote about how he felt threatened by a plumber because he was white and spoke with a drawl, but (by the author's admission) did nothing more than engage in a bit of banter and did the work. He was guilty, though, of being white and uneducated.
You people keep trying to paint this narrative that the certified assholes and degenerates that really do make up a poisonous fringe of society (Richard Spencer, Christopher Cantwell) are emblematic of all Trump voters. Your side beats this drum as established fact, not what it is: a trope from your loonier members. As a result, you have let your fringe and all their deceptions define your mainstream.
Is the right guilty of all this as well? Yes, but to nowhere near the same degree. The sooner you people stop insulting the 40% of the electorate that saw Trump as far from perfect, but a damn sight better than Hillary, you just MIGHT win an election.

He didn't lose his job, he just didn't get hired as a subcontractor for a particular job
This is all about semantics (and poor English) @ Spence's statement.
We don't know with 100% certainty that he wasn't already granted the job and then the contractor pulled it back once he found out his kid was "protesting". Nor do we know if he was merely denied participating in the bid process.

In all likelihood, the dad will end up on the plus side because since this story made the news he'll probably get a few extra calls from people sympathetic to what happened and wanting to hire him for other jobs.
Agree 100%

Any private business or corporation makes their own decisions on how to operate their organization. Any way they decide to do it within the law should be their business.
People who try to tell those businesses how to run themselves should be mocked mercilessly, but they are entitled do so.

This. Sorry but firing a family member of someone you disagree with is bullshite.

Believing someone who is pushing a lie such as "hands up don't shoot" is bullshite
I guess so many players are kneeling he needed a way to get some me time attention

Has it been established that this story is true?

Whose the one who only carried a book?
It's ok to say my dad didn't deserve to die or my dad was an a-hole but still didn't deserve to die
But noooo, all he had was a book. Gentle giant. Trayvon is 13

So why doesn't his son help his dad out by giving his dad a few thousand of his multi million dollar contract??
Posted on 9/28/17 at 3:54 pm to Friscodog
he wants attention and he's getting the wrong kind
a lot of people simply don't believe him and the ones that do, don't give a shite, as you just pointed out, he's rich.
if it is true, welcome to the real world where taking a stand for whatever it is that you're taking a stand for may require a first world sacrifice.

Still having trouble with the concept of consequences for actions...... And with grammar, too!

Why should a dad lose his job because of his grown son's actions?
Because the potential employer has a right to free speech and found an opportune and visible way of doing it. There is no "should" in this situation. Nowhere is it written that the father has to lose the job. He simply did because if one person's choice. Tough shite.
