Nah...haven’t been a member there for 15 years, but I’d bet they are. Hell...I hadn’t logged in here since before the BAMA game last year. Got tired of arguing and it was making me not enjoy the season. I only started lurking the PoliBoard when the riots started because I assumed this would be the place to keep up with what was going on. I only logged in a couple of days ago to help see what’s new, and only posted a few times.
Need to limit this for my sanity, ya know?

I thought BLACK LIVES MATTERED?
So black lives don't matter, just those killed by police?

Now youre upset because its out of hand cause it was ignored and the choice is to be petty and bring about whats wrong on our part.
Truth is most blacks arent out here killing each other, its not like its gone unnoticed but like anybody, those people control their lives, they want to take part in it, thats them. There have been many conversations with gangs members, gang leaders, communities. You can only do so much in that. There has been stop the violence rallies, meetings all of it but its positive so youre not gonna hear about it but its also simply not affective.
But on the other hand, its not a gang member or blk person job to protect and not kill someone. If thats what youre sworn to do, do your damn job. Its not random white folks job to report blacks doing nothing cause they are suspicious just cause the person is black. Mind your business.

There’s no question police make mistakes, and not all police are good cops. They do bad things intentionally and unintentionally. There are police that are bullies. There are police that are dirty. And yes there are racist police too. I think the same can be said about all professions, but you are correct that we pay cops to do right and when they don’t they should be disciplined, fired, of even prosecuted.
I think you are naive to think we could ever make it such that every cop is clean, and without “sin”. We should strive for that, but it’s never going to happen. And that goes both ways. Whites and blacks will still be victims of bad cops.
And you need to quit blaming police violence for your problems. If somehow every bad cop was fired tomorrow, and there were no more bad cops I doubt that issues in the black neighborhoods would change. You would still have all the issues you face today.
I’m not telling you to quit demanding justice, I’m telling you that if the black, inner city neighborhoods are to get cleaned up you need to hold parents accountable for their kids, get the kids educated, get the drugs out of the neighborhoods, get the gangs out the neighborhoods and clean up the blight and decay.

I guess I’m missing the point then. You don’t seem to be arguing that it’s not accurate that young black men commit a disproportionate amount of violent crime, just that no one, even police, should take that into account when dealing with them? How exactly does that work?
This line of thought would make more sense if there was no statistical difference between black and white perpetrators and police singled out one race over the other. But that’s not what’s happening. Police find themselves engaged with young black men a huge portion of the time because that’s who’s committing crimes. And far too often those encounters turn violent as suspects refuse to comply with lawful orders (not a boot licker here...I’ve long argued in threads about police brutality when it goes too far) and then deadly force is used.

Black people have given police every reason in the book to feel this way and you want to get mad at them when they do?
If black lives really mattered to black people, they would shift their focus on cleaning their own house. Stop calling black kids who do well in school "Uncle Tom". Focus on academics more than athletics. Focus on the 80% out of wedlock birthrate. Stop glorifying gang culture.
I obviously don't think all black people are like that, but too many are. Once shite like that changes, other things will change too, and it will all be for the better.

A cop out. The BLM protests are the epicenters for some of the child slayings. And no, this isn't "just coming up". Chicago has been a shining example, for years, of crime in Democrat strongholds and is always ignored. Secondly, you keep saying "yall". I thought BLM was a matter for police, now it's white people? Get your narrative straight.
quote:

So, it's ignored because its not effective? So the same tactics used for BLM protests are ineffective for black on black crime? Then why the push for BLM? Maybe because it fits a political narrative and has NOTHING TO DO WITH BLACK LIVES.
quote:
But on the other hand, its not a gang member or blk person job to protect and not kill someone. If thats what youre sworn to do, do your damn job. Its not random white folks job to report blacks doing nothing cause they are suspicious just cause the person is black. Mind your business.
So you are ignoring the black on black crime because "it's not your job"? How fricking lazy of a comment is that? You are an INCREDIBLE hypocrite on this matter. Just like others, when challenged on the EPIDEMIC of hyper violence in the inner city, your response is, "well we've tried, didn't work, so we're ignoring it". So again, explain to me, with that rationale, how do black lives matter.
quote:
Stop trying to use black on black violence as a scapegoat retort
If you totalled up all of the black on black crime + all of the police on black crime...black on black crime represents 99% of crime in these areas. It's not a scapegoat because its an inconvenient fact.
You want to protest and riot and march and defund for such a statistically insignificant problem compared to the elephant in the room. And then you say, "well it's about police". Ok, do you riot and protest for white people being killed by police? No. So this whole "movement" is about black people being killed by police. A very narrow group. SO let's disect that. If you want to only address black people being killed by police. Then which black lives, are you specifically up in arms over? Is it ALL BLACK LIVES? Meaning, do you want police not to return fire when fired upon, if the perp happens to be black? Do you want police not using lethal force, when an innocent civilian is in danger of being maimed/killed by a criminal, if that person happens to be black. So if you are logically saying, "well it's the unjustified killings"...ok. You have some common sense. However, that number, in 2019 was 10. Of that 10, a couple were accidental, 4 were somewhat justified, as the criminal was attacking police with a deadly weapon, just not a gun. 4 were what appeared to be murders. 2 of which, the officers were prosecuted, 2 of which are still in the court system. So again, this is what your protest is about? 4 black people murdered per year, by individual police officers that are being tried? Now if you want to widen your movement, it should be "all lives matter", then you'll have a statistic larger than the 4/year. And not all cases are murder. And none of it is solved by decreasing police funding.
So again, out of all of that, more black people are killed in Chicago alone in a day (especially in a weekend) than by cops NATIONWIDE. So when you tell me that "black on black crime" isn't the issue, you are DEAD WRONG. Black on black crime is the issue. This is what you should be marching about. This is who you should hold responsible. But by your own words, "they aren't listening" so you are just pivoting and protesting to rare occurences, and pretending its a problem? Why? Is it because you've been told it's THE PROBLEM? Until you can reasonable explain why black on black crime isn't the #1 crime issue in the black community, then you are a joke.

50% of abortions are by black.

Then let #BLM fund their existence from now on. Every single white donor should pull their donations and tell #LSUWOKE to frick off now.

Again, statistics prove your wrong. More 911 calls are made by black people in high crime areas. When you defund the police, you are HURTING the people you claim to care about.
quote:
You shouldnt be a cop! Thats the ENTIRE POINT!
Nobody's debating there aren't some bad cops out there. But the overwhelming majority are good. The problem in the community is not the cops, though. And you know that. You just use "the cops" because its the boogeyman to divert away from the real problem.
Why was black on black crime so much lower in the 50s than today? I'll give you a hint "the great society". Fatherless black households prior to 1964 were anywhere from 7-20%. Today, fatherless households are pushing 80%. THIS IS THE ENTIRE PROBLEM. The degredation of the nuclear family was proposed, accepted and enforced by the Democrat party, and it destroyed the black community, as a whole (obviously this isn't every single family). When the measure of manhood went from your ability to provide for your family to "respect" from the streets, is when the problems began.

As he said, he isn't asking us for help. He said they tried before, but it didn't work. So they gave up.
Essentially, what he is saying, but is too proud to say, is he knows black on black crime is the real problem. But they can't do anything about it. It's a problem so large, that it can't be solved. So he's diverting to a problem, regardless of how statistically small it is, that he thinks he may be able to solve. But the issue with that, is the size of the problem of police brutality is not as large as he thinks it is in his head. Statistics prove that. Does that mean he should just give up on it because its not a statistically large problem? No. But what he should do, is DEMAND that Black lives matter change its name to something more appropriate. And maybe march for more police training, higher requirements to become an officer. That, will in fact, be the change he seek. Maybe he just doesnt' understand that yet.
The reason BLM is met with resistance from most regular people, is because of A) the organizers and B) the statement is innacurate and C) when met with a message of "all lives matter", it is met with anger and contempt. ALL LIVES DO MATTER. But what the BLM is promoting is Black Lives Better. So maybe, if you want change, if you want support, distance yourself from "Black Lives matter" and start a narrative that is what you seek. Instead of "defund the police", "Train the police". And then, if you want to ignore the elephant in the room of black on black crime, at least you won't be hypocritical to your own message.

Can we please separate the A&M part from LSU and let the SJW's at LSU have their own university. I'm sick of SJW's racism. They are fricking it up for everyone. Us scientists, engineers, medical professionals, farmers and teachers are just fine without these SJW shite stirrers.

And see now you want to make it political by attacking my stance. I never once said defund the police. I think thats a horrible idea actually. Do they need the absurd amounts of finances they get, no but to majorly or totally defund the police is counterproductive. I never said all cops were bad. Honestly some of the most corrupt cops Ive seen are black, butb th hey are greedy, not bigots. They need to be eliminated too. I said if you have a prejudice of fear against anybody, you shouldnt protect anyone, because it will cause you to protect yourself over others even in situations that are not dire. I also never said black on black crime was great and should be ignored.
Point blank, there has to be accountability on all sides the difference is asking somebody whos salary I pay through paying taxes to protect me being black, just as they protect a fellow white person should be a given. It shouldnt be a crapshoot when I encounter them. If you arent under that oath, that uniform, that badge,I treat you just as unpredictably as someone of my own race cause you have no reason to care for me. Thats black on black crime, white on black, black on white. And its why that is irrelevant to a conversation about someone PAID to protect and serve. Its a conversation that should happen more but it is not the same and cannot be compared relatively with any honesty.
