The POS Guardian posted their article. This gave me great joy:
quote:
“A Paramount-WBD merger is a disaster for the people who work at both companies, and if Bari Weiss takes control of CNN, it will be the end of the global network Ted Turner founded,” one concerned CNN producer – who was not authorized to comment – told the Guardian. “I don’t think that’s hyperbolic.”
Turner, a billionaire media entrepreneur, revolutionized TV news when he founded the 24-hour, all-news channel in 1980.
A second CNN staffer had a more measured reaction, saying that “because CNN is so big and makes so much money, it was always going to attract the Ellisons”.
Multiple CBS News staffers who were not authorized to speak to the media resorted to curse words after reading the news. “frick, frick, frick,” said one producer at the network. “Well, frick,” said another CBS News staffer.
A third CBS News staffer said they expected their department to be axed if the network is merged with CNN and duplicative services are cut, as is standard for media mergers.

I don't want an all MAGA News Station. I just want a news station that reports the fricking news whether it's good for Trump/Republicans or bad for Trump/Republicans or good for Democrats or bad for democrats.
Just report the fricking news without it being 99% anti Conservative
I have tried NewsNation who is trying this and unfortunately I cannot stand any of their shows like Chris Cuomo and a few other rejects that I couldn't stand when they were on Fox or CNN

Bondi's AG offices threatened Netflix with anti-trust violations and they back out of the bidding war. The DOJ initiated reviews and probes into the Netflix-WBD deal on antitrust grounds, including civil investigative demands to assess market concentration, competition in streaming, and potential monopoly power. Republican AGs from 11 states sent a letter urging Bondi/DOJ to scrutinize/block it for concerns like higher prices and reduced innovation. So they backed out.
Didn't know that thanks Gumbo

CNN dropped its contract to show its channel in airports several yrs ago. Haven't flown in a while so not sure who, if anyone, replaced it.

It's not 100% a done deal yet. The FCC has to approve it....but with the present administration that should be no serious problem. Also Calif. / Newsome plans to sue as the deal "would have a serious economic impact on the State".

This is a seismic shift in the political landscape. It’s even bigger than Elon Musk buying Twitter.
