I think the best way to handle him is to sit him down and explain:

you're NOT going to War College

at this point, the caliber of your service is questionable enough that you won't be retired in grade
(and this doesn't happen particularly often, but I know of three cases)

What everybody said. He thought he was protected and got in over hes head. He's going to war college but essentially he's career is over. He'll be on CNN in a yr.

The only thing that can, and will, likely save his career at all is the negative publicity reducing and retiring him would bring.

That is why you use the age old trick of stuffing them in a small closet office with no windows where they lick envelopes all day until they are forced to quit on their own.

I would say yes. Dereliction of duties and making false official statements.

Fricker was acting on orders from a superior, in my opinion. My guess is that he was H.R. McMaster's snitch

When has that bothered the President.
After the election he has even less concern.

If he has committed any act of misconduct, I must assume that he has been Relieved and issued a referred OER reflecting the misconduct. This adverse act would be sufficient to have his seat at the War College taken from him.

As such, if Vindman takes his seat at the War College later this year, we can assume that Vindman's supervisor took the easy road, did NOT write the OER to reflect Vindman's misconduct, and that Vindman was allowed to go along his merry way as if he'd done nothing wrong.

It is VERY common for supervisors to take that easy road because going through all of the administrative steps of issuing a Referred OER to the Officer takes a lot of that supervisor's time and effort. It is much easier just to let Vindman walk. Besides, do YOU want to be the guy that dinged a Democrat Hero on his OER? You think YOUR career would be safe during the next Dem POTUS administration if you do? Haw. That's why MOST supervisors would take the easy way and let Vindman walk --if you try to extract a pound of flesh from him, YOU'LL be marked as a target next time the Dems have the chance to bite YOUR arse.

So, for all practical purposes, if Vindman takes his student seat later this year, he will have gotten away with it, I think we can assume.

Well, some of his actions seem to be questionable enough to pull his security clearance...

that would take care of War College...

Q: And is it fair to say that encouraging Ukraine to conduct investigations related to
domestic U.S. politics was not in the U.S. national security interests?
A: In my view, I don’t think it was. And it had inherent risks in that—it had inherent
risks in that, frankly, if Ukrainians took a partisan position, they would
significantly undermine the possibility of future bipartisan support. Losing
bipartisan support, they would then lose access to potentially, you know, hundreds
of millions of dollars in security assistance funds

^^^^^Completely illegal and is treason...

POTUS sets US Foreign policy, he is retarded as a seasoned military member for letting this treachery leave his lips...

Dude needs to be in Leavenworth

What possible defenses could he claim?

He'll say he took an oath to defend the Constitution and he believed Trump's actions were unconstitutional.

If I were the Pres. I would have the JCS transfer him to a DEW Line station in Greenland.

Trump gives very few fricks about this, and once re-elected will give zero fricks.

What would be the proper course of action in such a scenario? Did he follow it?
