I think President Trump should nominate Merrit(ck) Garland to replace Ginsburg

Uh no thanks.

I'm more interested in completely killing off radical progressivism on the Supreme Court.

Amy Coney Barrett is next up.

I agree. For sure.

Breyer and Thomas.

I wouldn’t do what the OP is suggesting counting on either one or both leaving while Trump is in office.

Hell, Thomas is only, what? 70?

Thomas might want to retire. Breyer is 80. What are the odds he makes it to 86?

You may be right about Thomas, but I don’t know. Hard to just assume that.

I’d say pretty good, but I know nothing about his health.

I didn't say it was a certainty but a very good chance. Look how old he is, 80. "That's what old people do; they die."

I think that is close to the average retirement age for justices. It will be interesting to watch. The death of Scalia was really an outlier when you consider how often the average age is pretty advanced.

Trump will never get another nominee confirmed unless it is Merritt Garland (next two years.)

Your wishes mean nothing. What's to stop him? Republicans are gaining in the Senate.

I love how Republicans alone are supposed to reach across the isle. Remember when Democrats were in power and they reached across the isle on Obamacare with a giant Middle Finger?

Please elaborate. If the Republicans get 1 more seat in November it will be a breeze to get any replacements confirmed.
