Are they reading the book aloud in class?
If not, why would students feel uncomfortable reading literature privately?
Are they that brainwashed - that words are bad by themselves even in context?

Harper Lees classic...and among the best novels ever penned in the English language....is one of if not the most banned book in American history......almost every state has tried it some point....

MS school district pulls To Kill a Mockingbird from reading list You know the country is fricked when Missississississippi starts doing this shite.
There have been school districts in Mississippi banning mockingbird since its first publish date.....almost every state in the nation has had a district that banned the book....only 4 years since Plaquemin Parish lifted their ban.....
Banning books is fricking ridiculous. I bought a copy of the Turner Diaries because it was banned....it should be used as an example of how not to write a novel
.....

They should replace it with "The Turner Diaries." I guess "Mein Kampf" would be more appropriate for the left's agenda, though.

This is disgraceful to take this classic away from kids.

The Sun Herald reports that Biloxi administrators pulled the novel from the 8th-grade curriculum this week.

For some reason this bothers me more than anything else the PC movement has done in a long time.
They are literally cutting off their nose to spite their face.

Along with The Outsiders, To Kill A Mockingbird was the best of the assigned books I read in school. This is a shame. People are stupid.

Hell, let 'em pull their favorite son, Wm. Faulkner, from the libraries. What crappy writing.

So it's not OK for 14 year olds, but OK for 15.

Replace the entire reading list with one fish two fish.

Is that their problem?
I thought it was Atticus being a good father especially when it was time to teach tough lessons and the overall story in the book that life isn't fair, but you fight when you should and you take care of your family.
