Make everything the same. Marksmanship, optics etc. except you get three hits to the torso and your opponent gets one. Now consider the projectiles that you can legally purchase versus the ones the cops/FBI/Military will use to defeat armor.
Still like your chances?
Yeah, cause I can just go to that cops/FBI/Military’s house and burn it down. That’s how the Iraqis did it.

Come out of the closet libby.

Not to be contrarian, but do you know ANYTHING about M4s or AR-15s?
You do realize that many ARs are MILSPEC and IDENTICAL to those M4s, minus the ability to shoot 3 round bursts on an "Auto" setting, right?
Exact same 5.56 NATO round, and same rate of fire on semi-automatic. If you don't know what your talking about, then please don't talk.
5.56 NATO is a dimension. From what I’ve been told by family friends that served in the military the ammunition they use in the military cannot be compared to anything you and I would ever use at a target range

Look at my post history. Ain't no libby here.
Let's go to the range. This old Artillery officer might just surprise you.

How does one become so unaware as you?

eta: bold part of your statement is wrong.
I've served, and come from a family with a father and older brother who all served, all in combat arms units.

The principle advantage for using military cartridge cases over commercial cartridge cases is the added thickness of the brass. When a firearm is discharged, the brass casing expands and contracts. In doing so, the brass is exposed to extreme (explosive) stress. Obviously, thicker walls on the cartridge will better manage material fatigue over the life of the cartridge. For active reloaders, the lifespan of a single cartridge may extend 10 to 15 fire rotations.
This is the only significant difference. It makes NO difference in an every day situation. The muzzle velocities are nearly identical.

They love AR15's it fits into their victim and inferiority complex....personally I'll take the M4 if given a choice....even up the equation.

The AR15 is a weapon of war. Deal with it, nerd.

Those are full auto bolt guns and pump shotguns I take it. I've heard "up close" you need full auto to be a real soldier in a war.

Which, to be fair, is an AR variant.

They would cut through a group of people with ARs pretty quickly.
Meh. They would be effective at suppressive fire - for about 2 or 3 minutes until they ran out of ammo.

Until they an out of ammo.
Of course the military has better weapons. But the sheer number of firearms in civilian hands is the difference.
Yes you could win in a fight against the average 12 year old. But could you win a fight against 2500 12 year olds?

Why? It's not a relevant demand, nerd.
Sorry, can't cope your way out of this one. The AR15 is a war machine baby, and millions own them. Makes my heart sing.

I’m sure those folks in Colorado wish they’d had one.

quote:Bro, an AR-15 with good optics is quite capable of accurate 500 yards shots.
Then get yourself a 300 Norma or 338 Lapua and do your work.
BTW, I also have a 7mm REM Mag and a .300 Weatherby mag to reach out and touch.
