Eric Copage, who is black, wrote, “As I grew older, I learned that the fair-skinned, blue-eyed depiction of Jesus has for centuries adorned stained glass windows and altars in churches throughout the United States and Europe. But Jesus, born in Bethlehem, was most likely a Palestinian man with dark skin.”

It is common knowledge that the face of Jesus which has been depicted for centuries by Christians was taken from the face on the Shroud of Turin

The face on the Shroud of Turin has features that look more like a white man than a black man so that's why Jesus has been portrayed looking like a white man throughout the centuries.

Mister Carton probably wrote this because he despises Jesus' tribe.

biblically speaking the old testatment tracing his roots back to Southern Iraq. so he is definitely of middle eastern heritage.

The Hebrews were in Egypt for a long time as well, so they likely picked up some DNA there. As well as European DNA from Greeks and Romans.

I think it has more to do with the Renaissance painters assuming that everyone looked like the population of northern Italy. They didn't have TV, photography, etc back then.

Also explains why depictions older than 500 years always look like the local population.

There’s really no archeological or literary evidence of this (apart from the Exodus of course)

Jesus was a Capricorn
He ate organic food
He believed in peace and love
And lived the Golden Rule
Long hair, beard and sandals,
And a funky bunch of friends
Guess they'd prob'ly nail Him up
If He came down again

1) Palestinian is not a race. 2) Palestine was hundreds of years from forming when Jesus was supposedly alive. Theres nothing about "Jesus was a Palestinian" that's correct. Jesus was a Jew, a Nazarene

You, sir, get it.
There is no “middle ground” on that.
Historical facts are indeed facts.

Just like ‘Israel’ is a made up country by military men and politicians in 1948.

This is the problem with those that identify with how Jesus looked and what was his heritage.

It doesn't matter, it has never mattered.

If you are paying attention in church, learned from the parables, gained knowledge on being socially communal, was taught forgiveness and most importantly had faith, it didn't matter.

The teachings are more important than the genetic makeup of the teacher.

Nope. all the Renaissance painters used the Shroud of Turin to depict what the face of Christ looked like

Post one depiction of the face of Christ older than 500 years that doesn't look like the face on the Shroud of Turin.

Arabs and Jews are white by the way. You don't have to be Scandinavian or Germanic to be considered white. Whites have their roots in what we call the Middle East and Caucasus. Indians and South Asians are Aryan who trace their roots to Iran and Southwest Asia. One group went to Europe and the other group stayed in the Middle East and went to India. Indians are Aryans as are Iranians and Arabs.
