But Massie had no problem siding with the Dems and raising the debt ceiling when Biden was president.

A statement like this makes it appear that you don’t care about the actual circumstances surrounding his vote on the debt ceiling in 2023.

If you want people to look at the BBB with nuance, you can’t then evaluate Massie’s past votes in a binary fashion.

The strength of the Trumpists propagandists attacks on Massie evaporate in such a discussion, so it’s understandable why you would do exactly that.

That’s a poor assumption. It’s simply pointing out that Massie isnt a staunch conservative that opposes spending. I understand the dems promised a 1% decrease. Massie got duped. The dems, like always reneged on their promise. Just like they did to Reagan with amnesty. It’s their MO. Massie should have known that.

One only needs to look at the very OP of this thread to see up and down votes to surmise what he means by "this board"

That’s not a rational explanation for using the broad stroke of “this board.” So that doesn’t help any.

No, they do not require 60 votes. You will not find that anywhere in the constitution.

You're talking about a filibuster rule that is completely made up by the senate to discourage single issue bills. If it's a single issue bill, they say it requires 60 votes to stop the filibuster - but even then, it still only requires the same 51 votes when it actually goes to the vote. But if it's a omnibus bill, then the rules are different and they only need the 51 votes from the start and nobody can filibuster them.

So blow me with your bullshite excuses. The only thing preventing single issue bills is congress and that nobody challenges it - not even Trump the Great. And we sure as hell can't count on people like you to hold people accountable for actual change, that would require getting off your knees.

You might want to try to recall who was running the house in 2023. The Democrats didn’t promise the 1% spending cut.

It was Mike Johnson who got around it and "duped" him, not the democrats.

Can you just answer the guy’s question?

It's a superficial question -

What could be/have passed with this current Congress and environment that wasn't?

- because the answer is nobody knows what could have been passed if Trump had pushed all his chips in on a reformative spending bill, decidedly conservative (the real kind).

It's not unlike all the Covid spending. Remember the argument, "but what could he have done differently?!" - as if his requesting more spending than Dems proposed and lobbying to primary the only Republican objecting to handing Democrats trillions didn't mean what it obviously did.

For supporters that view Trump as remarkably persuasive, strong and powerful, you sure do give him a pass on not leading.

Sigh. The dems promised to vote for the cuts. Even if they didn’t. It doesn’t help the fact Massie got duped into voting for spending.

So you’re telling me it’s ok to vote for more spending if you get other stuff you want? You sure that’s the position you want to take? I mean Massie did…you sure you want to?

Yeah, because you're an idiot who treats politics like a team sport instead of being someone who gives a shite about the actual issues.

Yeah, Keven McCarthy

And soon after Massies vote to increase the debt ceiling for McCarthy, the House took out McCarthy

So rightfully, Mike Johnson didnt follow thru on anything that Massie used to betray the House with

So additional spending is ok when you need it and to get other concessions? Is that what you’re saying.
