Wrong. When you are POTUS you don't use language like this unless you are playing to a dumber base. He cannot divide enough. If you have problems with the quote, take it up with the Washington Times.

You demand that people accept your forced interpretation of what he meant. And, you wonder why people don't agree with you often.

So did you even watch the damn speech? The Dims sat on their hands as the Republicans chanted USA. So maybe Trump has a point.

Yes, watched every minute of it and I agree that they sat on their hands. Now explain to me how this is treason.

You do realize Trump could say Spaghetti is made of worm dicks and most of the people here would support it simply because it makes fragile people like you, who spend their days refreshing CNN's home page, so damn angry

It is not so much the action we love as much as it is the reaction

So, keep up the good work, I enjoy it

If I'm looking for agreement, I would not be here. Now explain to us why it is treason.

Once again, step outside of your fricked up alternate universe bubble and go watch the speech he gave TODAY. You know, the one that is being lied about in your OP

well that is easy as there are several definitions of treason, one simply being that of betrayal. disloyal. No crime element necessary

whether or not you believe it is treasonous in nature or whether or not it even is treasonous in nature doesnt mean it can not be explained or perceived as treasonous in nature rather easily

The President of the United States just implied that members of the opposition political party are guilty of treason, which is a death penalty crime, because they didn't stand and applaud during his speech. Think about that for a moment.

Joking or not, this is a line that shouldn't be crossed. Not by a Democrat, not by a Republican, not anybody. The idea that disagreement with those in power is not the same thing as treason is LITERALLY what separates us from single party dictatorship states like North Korea. When the most charitable response to these remarks is "Haha, you know you can't take the things the president says in public speeches seriously", then that's not exactly a great sign either.

This entire thread is disingenuous based on the ACTUAL speech. Why are you not understanding this and doubling down?

You idiots are insufferable. The man was making a joke about the left and all of their feaux outrage (see your post for an example).

Get back to me when he politicizes the IRS, FBI, DOJ, and State Dept to attack his political opponents.

Until then, I don’t give a frick

It only further shows how Dems lack a sense of humor. The inability to recognize when something is tongue in cheek is pretty sad.

Of course if Dems were the ones in power these claims wouldn't be tongue in cheek, so maybe that's why you are having trouble.

I've heard the speech. Absolutely stupid to use that word given the current political climate. Its about as inflammatory as you can be calling fellow Americans traitors and un-American. Dissent is as American as consent.

Many lines have been crossed by the federal governmentment that should never have been crossed and the results of which are far more dangerous then simple hurt feelings and grandstanding you see here.

Welcome to the shite show of federal government

The idea that disagreement with those in power is not the same thing as treason
what about the idea that a differing opinion should not be supported by free speech, should not be protected, should not be heard, and should be censored by universities, youtube, google and slowly enforced by legislation. I view that as far scarier than some words causing some democrats to angrily tweet until their fingers bruise..but then again im not a fricking moron

my god man this is some high level grandstanding. You hopped straight to north korea. I can assure you the treason laws are not what separates us from being North Korea, how insanely idiotic

So what you're saying is we are becoming north korea

And Trumpkins suggest critics are "sky screaming" and "melting" when one justifiably points out Trumps dictatorial inclinations and dangerous demagoguery. He is dangerous to our democratic institutions and stoking the fires of hatred among us. A president should never ever say that. And you wonder why we have posters here talking about civil war and killing liberals?

If they said that, it is irresponsible to say the least, but they are not the POTUS, who knows that every word is covered by the press.
