Have to say… there is some irony in this. Pakistan was one of the talibans major supporters when we were there.
We leave, and a few years later they declare war for the same reason (harboring militants) as we did, because the taliban let attacks in Pakistan happen once they took power again

I doubt it, we don’t have a lot of influence in either of those countries. Pakistan has been dealing with militant attacks from Afghanistan for several years now, guess their patience wore thin

None of this would be happening if the region's stabilizing force, Saddam Hussein, was still controlling Iraq and keeping that part of the world in check. It's amazing, how the passage of time and the practice of retrospect paints the whole picture.
