Stick to white knighting for Disney.

Yeah that's bad stats. Has somebody else pointed out. People who get the flu shot are people who are already higher risk for flu

I got a flu shot but haven't had the flu.

Maybe Tom doesn't know how the flu shot works.

Read the full abstract. They adjusted for that variable, amongst others.

Allegedly

I got one. I dont have much of an immune system since I had Leukemia and chemo, so they recommend it.

Got type A flu two weeks ago, my wife had it for a week, lasted me a day and a half. I assume the shot helped somewhat.

Pretty sure you don’t have any idea what you’re talking about. Everyone in the study is a Cleveland Clinic employee.

Admittedly I didn't read the details and I assumed that they had compared general population numbers rather than a restricted subset. Perhaps I should answer more slowly next time

Last fall during a Dr visit the nurse told my mother that the flu vax wasn't very good this season and to not bother getting it.

That seems reckless from an immune standpoint. The shingles vaccine is notoriously difficult let alone the other two.

It seeks records to me as well. All I can repeat is what he told management?

Anecdotal but I was the only one in my immediate family of 4 that didn’t get a flu vaccine this year and last … and I got the flu and they didn’t.

Anecdotal, but I've never had a flu shot and I've never gotten the flu.

Ever.

Been getting one for 38 years, I've never had the FLU since that I know of.

Last time I had the FLU was in my early 20's and it put me down for 3 days.

I never get the flu shot and never get sick.

Plus the study says

quote:

Conclusions This study found that influenza vaccination of working-aged adults was associated with a higher risk of influenza during the 2024-2025 respiratory viral season, suggesting that the vaccine has not been effective in preventing influenza this season.

My primary doctor told me the same thing back in November, that the vaccine was only 35% effective this year. So I didn't get it.
