He had no authority to shut down the country thankfully. But he did shut down travel to China. Which is far more than China did for the rest of the world, which is fricking odd since they are the source of the virus.
(unless you wanna play the game that actually it was the USA that secretly released it, so as to blame China… That’s not even necessary.)
Meanwhile, as late as February, Nancy Pelosi was pleading for people to come down to Chinatown in San Francisco, unmasked, to partake in the New Year celebrations. This was weeks after Trump shut down air travel to and from China.
He delivered respirators when he was told they were necessary, even though we find later they weren’t. He opened the bureaucracy, so Big pharmaceutical could proceed in working on a treatment - again something everyone said was impossible but yet he still got it done.
So don’t even start with this bullshite about him having an inept response. You can cram that all the way up your Walz hole sideways.

this didn't happen - he didn't shut down air travel to and from china. he put a ban in place for foreign nationals from a list of countries - that included china - could not enter the usa. us citizens, legal permanent residents and their families were still free to leave and enter the usa (subject to a 14 day quarantine). you can read all about it here - https://www.dhs.gov/archive/news/2020/03/17/fact-sheet-dhs-notice-arrival-restrictions-china-iran-and-certain-countries-europe
i hadn't heard of covid until end of feb at least, maybe early march. in hindsight peolsi's words to come on down to chinatown were pretty misguided, but we weren't shutdown then either
he did a good job on the respirators and operation warp speed i'll give him that
gotta run some errands but i'll try to remember to return to this thread and list some things imo he botched ie cutting checks, sending tons of mixed signals and messages, being wishy washy with leadership

The irony of this thread, where I discuss the logic behind how evidence is treated, when you initially post like you had a smoking gun, only to devolve your argument into "I don't need evidence or logic b/c the steal" is simply incredible.
