The same thing happens in a friends house that happened on the street, you say its a 50/50 call.

1.) People generally know their friend's pets temperament.
2.) Inside a home vs in the street.

I will NEVER again in my life reside anywhere that falls under the jurisdiction of a police department.

All the cop has to say is he feared for his life, and hes free to take his jumpy arse on the streets.

There are a couple of communities around here with no cops, and little crime. If something happens they call the troopers to fly in.

Kind of nice not looking for radar traps every 5 miles.

They tend to be more protective in the home than on the street.

Good point. Had his shot only occurred when the dog was at his feet, with grass under the dog, would you have been ok with it?

The dog in that video? Hell no, unless it was latched on to his forearm. Just because that would have been a safer shot doesn’t mean it was necessary. If he’s that much of a pussy he needs another line of work.

How many people had they attacked? She bears some of the responsibility but that doesn’t absolve him.

This isn’t exactly an isolated issue. It happens far, far more often than it should.

You deserve to be slapped. Justifying a coward shooting a golden retriever? Good God I hope you don’t have a badge or a gun.

Hopefully he's made to feel less like a man over it.

You are such a hard arse. I'll anxiously await your phone video, of you out there calling a cop, a pig to his face. Get on with yo bad self

You know there's nothing they can do when you call one a pig to their face, don't you?

No it wasn't. It was a bad mistake but the Policeman was probably ignorant of most canine characteristics. He probably doesn't know the difference between a Lab and a Mastiff.
He needs more education/training.

Change a few key words in there, and you'd sound exactly like the BLM crowd that vehemently defends the young men who end up with their middle school graduation picture on tshirts after perishing during extreme cases of FAAFO.

Cop is an arse and owners are also irresponsible for not leashing dogs once they saw cop pull up.

Unleashed dogs in a neighborhood setting are the worst. Have had so many in my neighborhood run up on my dog. I've never felt the need to shoot any, as I am not scared of any dogs, but they are a pain in the arse, and I feel a little guilty when my a-hole dog tries to attack them, even if it's not my dog's fault.

Are county deputies any better, in your mind?

Because in my experience, on average, they have far less training that municipal police.

They generally are, especially when comparing larger metro cops vs deputies in outlying areas. I suspect that's mainly because most sheriffs are elected, and are typically much more in tune with their electorate. Police have an extra layer of insulation from voters.

This pig needs to sizzle.

What the frick is wrong with the Loraine Ohio police department? Has anyone looked into how many of their officers have faced indictments? The level of rampant corruption that has gone on in Loraine would make even the likes of Chicago blush.
