He said his education bill passed. Is that not true? I honestly have no idea.
Why is he a bullshitter? He seems to have different answers to questions that plague this state.

Nelson interviewed for the top job at LABI, which was vacated by Stephen Waguespack. Who is now running for Governor. So Nelson is done in the House regardless.

Have had heard him at 3 forums in the past 3 months and got a chance to talk with him in a social setting at length Friday night. He’s been around the world and has a perspective beyond just that of Louisiana.

Parents were CPA’s. He’s a former state department employee. Came back to Mande and I think this has always been his plan though I’m not sure. Many of his policies don’t geehaw well with LABI’s priorities so I’m not sure how that would work if he dropped out and took that gig.

But he will piss a lot of hard core conservatives off with a pragmatic approach at times. But that approach is what achieves results as politics happens in the middle. But his policies would definitely benefit middle class Louisianians for sure.

Just don’t think he’s quite long enough in the tooth for the 4th Floor. But as a Congressman or State Senator, or perhaps a Treasurer he’d be really effective IMO.

His future is extremely bright.

Nelson can recite alot of slogans but he is naive and lacking on substantive knowledge as it relates to the key issues.

He probably knew from the get go that he stood little chance of becoming governor this go around. Our current system just won’t allow someone new like him to become governor. You got to have the right friends and connections which he doesn’t have right now.

I think for him, this election was about gaining support and experience, while getting opportunities to move up, to hopefully become governor one day. The last LABI president has a chance to challenge the GOP favorite, so I don’t think there’s anything wrong with Nelson going after that job. Gives him more experience and will give him the right connections. He’s not a part of the good ole boy system, which is why I’m voting for him. He knows what the real issues we face are. Richard is going to be around LA politics for a long time.

Oh wonderful. Another potential career politician. What were his positions on the gender bill veto overrides again?

Part if it, yes. You see, dealing with economic issues doesn't mean you have to ignore social issues. You can do both.

No. Just like I tell the liberals, social issues in this country are overblown, just to get your vote. All that matters is the economy, especially in a state like Louisiana.

Abortion? Climate? Education?

And the right thing was done by the Supreme Court when it comes to abortions. Gave power back to the states.

Climate is most definitely an issue that is overblown. One of the biggest examples probably.

Of course education is important but you don’t really care about fixing the real issues in education. You only care about the LGBTQ stuff which is pretty non existent in a state like Louisiana. Like I said, that kind of stuff is being dangled over your heads, so a certain someone can get your vote. The gender stuff is not a legit issue in this state.

And wouldnt have happened had it not been a social issue focused on in politics.

Its a social issue that will lead to more and more regulationnif the right doesnt push back.
