This is what we are dealing with here.
A guy is such a good con artist that he has presumably people with a brain cell believing that, the guy that:
Was the Party's nominee in 2016
Was the Party's nominee in 2020
Is leading to be the Party's nominee in 2024
Handpicked the Chairwoman of the Party
Was instrumental in getting the Speaker of the House installed for the party
Is not Establishment.
I will always hand it to Trump, that's amazing stuff.
Trump is the preferred candidate of the populist movement within the Republican party. If you are making the case that the populist movement is actually the GOPe then I'm just going to have to disagree with you.

I don't think you do if you are insinuating that the Desantis campaign actually had to take and release the photo op for it to be a photo op.
Oh, ok. I was wrong. You don’t understand my point and also you’re retarded.

What if terms like “GOPe” are inherently meaningless buzzwords that carry no importance outside of Internet banter?

But, at least have a shred of intellectual honesty and not try and define my position out of thin air.
"DeSantis is controlled by the establishment and Trump is anti-establishment" is nothing but thin air without real world/factual evidence that makes the case.
Trump grew up in the establishment. Trump made a fortune being an establishment player (all credit to him, I have zero problem with that). Trump staffed his admin with the establishment. Trump spent like an establishment president. Trump expanded the establishment's power/intrusiveness. At the most critical juncture of his presidency, Trump took a knee to the establishment.
So give us a compelling argument based on things DeSantis as done that establishes RDS as establishment in ways Trump is not.

I dunno. You've convinced me to not vote for GOPe shills. I'm just not totally sure if I can vote for him anymore.
I knew that a long time ago. You aren't voting for Trump.

According to the post directly under you, Graham is GOPe incarnate. So I guess Desantis could start with unequivocally denouncing that old devil.

You're right. He's GOPe. I can't vote for him anymore. I'm just going by your rules.

Did Desantis partner with Graham? Why would he need to denounce someone who has never been "nounced"?

What? Are you new to politics? That is extremely common.
No. You don't understand. You are saying Desantis can win the general IF he wins the primary. I'm pointing out that he can't win the general without winning the primary which you've acknowledged he can't.
Desantis will not be an option.

It is 100% correct. He has no path.
It's not.

I am very glad to hear this.
I know the type of person I am dealing with now.
You democrats always show your true colors. Good to know we are dealing with pure and utter scum.
I've literally never once voted or a Democrat.
You just haven't identified the enemy yet. Honestly, I think you are about a decade, at minimum, behind. By the time you figure it out it will probably be to late.
But, I'll point something out. Only one of us is working against the presumptive (by our own determination) Republican nominee. That's you. That's objective. It's who you are.

This might be a microcosm of the entire difference between Trump and Desantis supporters and their view of the world.
Do all Desantis voters agree with pankReb that the photo of Trump and the taco Salad on Cinco de Mayo was a negative photo...a fake photo op?

I’m juss sayin, indefatable described GOPe as “amorphous” so I chimed in to say “not so fast mister, it’s not amorphous, it’s been alleged that it manifests itself in the form of Lindsay Graham.”

It's that simple.
I'm not "just here to point out why you are wrong".
And, I'm definitely willing to laugh at Desantis from time to time.

Blame the cultists on this board. They are the ones that manifested it into him but suddenly he doesn’t seem so bad for some reason.

To be clear, you're telling us that you believe an RDS administration would be as destructive to the economy as Biden has been?
You are too simple of a thinker.
To answer your question above, no. I think RDS would be better than Biden economically and socially.
However, in the long run (not really that long anymore) failing to remove the power that exists within the GOPe is the death of our country (as we know and love it).

Then why are you voting for the guy who quite literally has the GOPe running his campaign?
ETA: btw I fully expect you to continue ignoring these questions.

I don’t think “cultists” actually look upon LG in a positive way like that. As far as I can recall my remarks are the only ones with a somewhat favorable tone towards Graham. There have surely been others, but if so they’re few and far between. And even my remarks are “favorable” towards Graham only insomuch as it being a tolerable situation, all things considered, for the strong potential for electoral benefit to Trump. Like I said, you can’t save the world from the house.

I like Trump. The photos, his interactions with his supporters, how he handles the press, etc., I like. I also think he's a good guy and loves the country.
My skepticism of DT is based on a) he's not a conservative, b) he's too soft, and c) he doesn't get enough accomplished (talking government, not his private business).
On he's too soft - I know he's supposed to be the proverbial bull in the china closet/street brawler, but beyond his rhetoric he is soft. People he surrounds himself with too often ignore him, or even work against him, and far too much is left undone. And when shite is hitting the fan, he's lobbying for more spending than Nancy f'n Pelosi is proposing.

You don't think we are anywhere close to residing in such a place, do you?
The GOP hasn't governed in that way in 40+ years. The last GOPe preferred presidential candidates since 2000:
* George W Bush
* John McCain
* Mitt Romney
* Jeb Bush
It takes over a billion to win a presidential election. It's not crazy to think that someone like Desantis has to make deals to be able to be viable. In fact, it's almost a certainty.
