This comment makes me think you are discussing fairness. Who the frick cares?

No, i'm discussing consistency and hypocrisy. I mean, if that doesn't matter to you, then you can stop posting. If you don't care about hypocrisy then you are not a rational person nor a reasonable person, ergo, your posts are worthless.

quote:

I've very clearly stated my concern of Desantis. The things you mentioned above are all meaningless.

To a die hard Trump sycophant. I agree that is what the sycophants think. Which is why they are called sycophants/cult/etc... If you have no concern for your own hypocrisy then that means you are fanatical. Which means you are devoid of logic and reason. Again, making everything you post as valuable as a fart in the wind.

If you care to understand my position, you can find it.

I don't know if you are familiar with the search history on this website, but it isn't very granular. Got a link to those things i discussed? Or are you doing what so many others do and rather than discuss a substantive topic, just say, "i already posted that, anyone can find it" and leave it at that?

Your position is that you're a fricking hypocrite

That's definitely not my position. Your intelligence level is in question for sure. That may be your opinion of my position. It's certainly not my position.

are perfectly content with Trump quite literally working hand-in-hand with the GOPe in multiple instances

Kind of. I hate the GOPe. I acknowledge that Trump has worked with the GOPe in multiple instances. But, Desantis working hand-in-hand with the GOPe in the same way that you referenced Trump has is not my reason for deciding not to vote for him. You invented that because you simple mind needed that invention to call me a hypocrite.

This is a false dichotomy. A person can believe that there are systemic issues in the Republican Party and also believe DeSantis is a good candidate. A person can believe there were systemic issues with voting, especially in swing states, in 2020 and still believe DeSantis is a good candidate. Quit boxing everyone in to positions they do not hold.

counter argument: The guy who just teamed up with Linsey Graham and has Bush GOPe aids working his campaign is the only person who can take down the establishment.

He can't, because it would ruin his preconception of anyone that thinks differently. You are either in box A or box B, to them.

Now, given that the biggest threat to us is the Democrats

Then why are you so adamant about voting for one?

#1, i"m not voting for one.

#2, the statement above is the premise of your side complaining about me not voting for Desantis in the general. I don't completely share that opinion. I believe that the GOPe is just as much of a threat to us as Democrats are.

You still don't understand my position. It's probably why you are so emotional about it.

But, it's clear what my position is and why.

The goings on over the last 20+ years within the Republican party had a very large impact on some Republican voters. You missed all of that. Because you missed it, you've been unable to predict or even understand why we are where we are. You truly don't understand it. And, as a result, your opinion is now in the minority.

So when he asks for you to provide backup or evidence supporting your position that DeSantis is "establishment" in ways Trump is not, you make it all clear with: I know shite that you don't.

And the shite you know is evidently more compelling than Trump growing the establishment while in office and the $5 trillion he heaped onto our debt.

Desantis took money from Ken Griffin!!!

Well, Trump took money from Ken Griffin.

*ignore*

Desantis has Karl Rove working for him behind the scenes.

Well, Trump had him as a confirmed member of his 2016 team and there's no evidence Rove has anything to do with Desantis.

*ignore*

Desantis is a Paul Ryan/Bush puppet!

Well, Trump has multiple Paul Ryan and Bush people at the highest levels of his campaign right now, Desantis does not.

This is what we are dealing with here.

A guy is such a good con artist that he has presumably people with a brain cell believing that, the guy that:

Was the Party's nominee in 2016
Was the Party's nominee in 2020
Is leading to be the Party's nominee in 2024
Handpicked the Chairwoman of the Party
Was instrumental in getting the Speaker of the House installed for the party

Is not Establishment.

I will always hand it to Trump, that's amazing stuff.

An inescapable feature of populism is seeing the invisible hand of the global elites everywhere. All your political opponents are global elites. All the media saying anything you don’t like are global elites. Your neighbor voting for a political opponent is a sucker for the global elite.

It’s one of the worst features of populism. And it’s why the movements always end with the initial leaders of the populist movement with their head in the figurative (or literal) guillotine. There is no one who cannot be fashioned into an enemy of the people.

He thinks it's amazing, too. Actually used that word when he laughed at his superfans - (paraphrasing) I could shoot someone in broad daylight and not lose the support of a single one of them.

That is Desantis

You think the guy who can't win the primary (your premise) is the guy who can win the general?

quote:

In a general election in deep analytics, he polls WAY better, particularly in swing states.

Trump will make up any ground he needs to when he wins the nomination.

quote:

Trump has no chance whatsoever of winning at all
That's incorrect. Even Paul Ryan said he could win. Even McCarthy said he could win. I realize you may not believe it, but obviously there's a chance above zero (which is where you have Desantis).

quote:

Trump will win the primary and it has nothing to do with anything you said. It has to do with Trump and the attention of dimwits he has captured. He is an exceptionally talented con artist. He is a very, very talented man at capturing a room, and delivering remarks that sound tough and that people desperately want to hear.

That's the rationalization of a person who doesn't understand and who is so emotionally fragile that he must back into an explanation that preserves his ego.

quote:

You sycophantically worship a deeply flawed man and an objectively terrible general election candidate.

I only worship Jesus. My political allegiance is to the group (America First / MAGA) that is as disconnected with the power brokers of today's political landscape as possible.

Now, listen to this part really, really closely. It's going to really hurt. But, you need to listen to understand. If Trump dropped out of the race tomorrow, I still wouldn't vote for Desantis for all of the same reasons I already mentioned.
