Leave it to this god-forsaken political board to conclude that a liberal conspiracy spanning the entirety of western journalism is in a coordinated attempt to take down their guy, versus the likelihood of a small town Alabama judge sexually assaulting teenage girls in the 70’s.

Glad to hear you have heard of the word hypocrite. A good word for most politicians but I know nothing about Moore really other than he is a politician from bama and well the track record here is a bit slippery.

I assume we'll hear more about it. If 4 people came out of the blue to the Washington Post on the eve of an election with a story that came together like this, then I absolutely agree.
But that probably isn't what happened. Read the article if you haven't. WaPo provides some detail about how they interviewed the accuser and talked to her friends about what she told them at the time.
My guess is someone who doesn't like Moore heard the story and it got to an investigative journalist who started pulling on strings and looking for other people who may have similar stories. That doesn't mean it's true, but if that is what happened, it largely counters your concerns.
I don't think investigative journalism happens a lot anymore, but I imagine it might when used against Republicans.

It is entirely possible and believable that is may have happened, but it is also entirely possible and believable that this is a hit-job. I'm sitting on the fence until more comes out.
