My brother in law introduced me to Rush back in the mid 90's. I cant say I was a regular listener, but when I did it gave me comfort and some hope that conservatives in America had a least a fighting chance.
Sadly, that fight lost one it's great champions and it's probably better he doesn't see how this one turns out.
We lost a good one today; RIP Rush. I hope you were in heaven an hour before the devil knew you were dead.

Rest in Peace Rush...what a great man!

God be with his family and with all of those who admired his steadfast, honest, conservative mindset.

It was 1991 during the first Gulf War and I was driving back to Addis from a class at LSU.
I was flipping through the a.m. radio dial and came upon a talk show that peaked my interest.
The man spoke with a commanding voice and he was saying things at the time, I didn’t realize I had always believed, but did. He was laying out conservative principles which I had not understood to be conservative ideals. They were just things that I had embraced and assumed most did. He expounded on the love of country, hard work, common sense ideas, delivered in a way that was funny and on point.
I’ve spent years of hours listening to his shows and there won’t be another show like his to fill the void of his absence.
Gone too soon Rush, you will be missed.

I listened to him for 31 years and the man loved this country and believed that all people were good. Wish liberals thought that way.

I see the liberal left is not afraid to use the downvote option. Sad, but not unexpected.
RIP Rush!!

Part of my childhood died when Casey Kasem died.
My interest in the paranormal and the unexplained mostly died the day Art Bell died.
And now the lone figure that was able to stand in the face of all those that want to fundamentally change what this country was, is, and what it could be, has finally been silenced. RIP Rush. You sir were a national treasure and the voice for so many. I only hope someone with his fearlessness will take up his sword and continue to fight for the American conservative and our way of life.

Rush was smarter than the average talking head.
He was a pioneer in talk radio based on politics. He made syndication of political talk profitable and set a high bar. He was smart on the issues he addressed too.
He considered himself an entertainer first. He was.
He knew what his audience wanted to hear and what stance people expected him to take.
He was great American. RIP

RIP. He's easily one of the Top 10 most influential people in my life. He taught me how to think for myself and not rely on the traditional media who all march to the same drumbeat. He's easily one of the most influential Americans of the last 50 years.
And to all those who are celebrating today... the old saying of "You know how great a person truly was when all the worst people in society celebrate their death." So true.

“on the cutting edge of societal evolution”. anyone have any doubt we’re (de)volving? Rusty started warning us decades ago.
My favorite thing about Rush was the way he got idiots to expose themselves.
“I hate Rush Limbaugh!”.
“How often do you listens?”
“I’ve never listened to that a$$hole”
“How do you know he’s an -$$hole?”
(blank stare) “you're a racist!”
The disconnect between what he actually said vs what people thought he said tells more about the Lefts ability to spread lies than anything Rush actually said.
He accepted the role as lightening rod willingly and knowingly. That was brave.
Conservatives need to learn from that. “not rocking the boat” is how we got here. Rush is gone. It’s up to all of us to pick up role of being the loud voice.

Returning his talent to God.

Well this saddens me.
I will always remember the first time I heard Rush on the radio. I was a student worker for LSU Ag and driving one of the University pick-up trucks to one of the research sites and I turned the AM radio to WJBO in the truck at the south gates on Highland Road. It was spring 1988.
Yeah, that's how much of a giant Rush was. You remember the first time you heard him like it was a major historical event.
RIP. Truly great American.

Hate this. I've been listening to Rush on the radio since I was a teenager in the 90's. There will never be another one like him and conservatives are going to miss him.

This one hurts, RIP Rush.
