Americans have forgone cancer treatments, heart disease treatments, and screening checks, and health checkups because of COVID-19.
Mental health issues, suicides, and a myriad of illnesses will kill many Americans because of the focus on all things COVID-19.
This falls under the law of unintended consequences or maybe intended consequences.

May be, just may be, as new scientific data and evidences pertaining to covid-19 and the effects of lockdown on it's spread comes, they change their positions?

Maybe they are actually caring about the world population and know there are more people dying from starvation than bc of Covid.
The WHO has not one frick to give about the actual people that make up the world’s population. In fact, I would bet they see the world’s population as a problem.

Did you see the clip on Laura Ingram's show of the WHO guy who said lock-downs have been devastating to poor families? Some of us have been saying this for over six months.

Or they just called Xi and he told them. Just like Xi told them that Covid wasn’t transmissible to humans through the air. You know... kinda what caused the delay in combating the virus.
If you believe the WHO..... you don’t fault Trump in any of the response.. right?

So, from your excerpt, the WHO called for flattening the curve, and some countries decided to do it with a lockdown.
