"Police said they they received several reports Sunday of a man wearing a swastika instigating fights at Third Avenue and Pine Street. Police said they were on the scene within five minutes and found the man — with a Nazi flag armband — on the ground.
“He declined to provide info about incident & left after removing his armband,” Seattle police said in a tweet about the incident on Monday."
Doesn't sound staged or anything.

I am referring to situations where the 'fighting words" are directed at you personally - or one of your intimate loved ones. Not in just idly 'protesting' something.
I have seen many instances of these 'protesters' getting right up in a person's face and yelling and screaming and spitting on them. I would feel completely morally OK with punching them in the face -
In This video there is no audio - it's hard to tell what the real impetus for the punch was
IF it was just some nut with a NAZI armband, then yeah, you should just treat him like WBC scum and walk on by - maybe even tell him how stupid and repulsive he is.
BUT if the Nazi jerk invaded your space - or directed a comment to you about advocating for your removal from the earth, then a direct response to that would be justified.
One thing about the "wild wild west" was that people were just more polite back then - and we fared quite well.
Now that everyone is using "freedom of speech' as a weapon to assault anyone they dislike and be rewarded for the efforts, we are seeing a much more impolite society.
Justified arse-whippings serve to blunt this kind of bullshite.

If he hit the guy just for wearing a swastika, I disagree with his actions. To me that is no different than wearing a Che Guevara shirt or a hammer and sickle somewhere on your person.

I am amazed at the angst demonstrated by some in regards to a punching. Maybe it's an age thing, but this was nothing but a funny vid to me. A guy getting punched. He wasn't even avoiding it, in fact he waved the assailant in. Should the puncher be reprimanded? Sure, but this still is not that big of a deal, imo.

I don't think anyone deserves acts of violence simply for wearing something or saying something offensive. Do I like it? No. Is it in poor taste? To me, yes. But if the person isn't breaking the law / infringing on my rights, then why should I care?
