Y’all laugh at one of the few guys in our legislature who occasionally stands on principle. Clowns.
Yes. He's so "principled."

No. It's very real in exactly the way I meant that it is... and you obviously have it. "Muh you don't cry about literally everything Trump says and does like me... so you're in muh 'cult'!

Is he not fairly consistent or hardly hesitant to stand in the way of things he doesn’t believe in?

This can’t be restated enough!
Rand is the failure for not building a coalition of 50 votes. Easier to just complain on Twitter.

Yay?
like why did they have to remove the provisions for taking SBRs and silencers out of the NFA. would've been the first time in history that a bill made my life slightly better. but no. that was among the first things to go. because the govt can't live without the $200 they steal for "tax stamps?!?!" fck em.

You are not as dumb as most of these chuckle fricks, why do you prefer California deciding our AI policy rather than the Feds?
If AI is going to be the potential savior or destroyer of humanity do you really trust the people of California to make the best decisions for something of that. Importance?
I do believe that states should be able to set their own laws on AI. But my issue with it was primarily the length of time. Modern AI is in its infancy, and we don't know what we'll be dealing with in 3 weeks, much less 10 years. So trying to legislate a complete unknown that far out is shortsighted at best.
The provision had nothing to do with "California setting our policy". That's just the scare tactic used to justify it. It had to do with a bunch of rich tech bros trying to carve out a guaranteed nest egg for themselves over the next 10 years by greasing a few pockets to completely remove regulations. The implications of it all for us normal folks? Don't care, got rich.

He’s trying to give chucky Schumer leverage, if that’s what you mean by principled

I thought Collins was supposed to be a yes vote

Sick of these massive bills where no one truly knows everything that is in them.
Vote on each issue one at a time. 100 issues? 100 votes.
