I don't think lethal force was justified nor do I believe that the ICE agent feared for his life.

Does a cop (or anyone) have to fear for their own life to take another's? In other words, is he obligated to suffer, say, a broken leg and some cuts/abrasions, before the situation getting to a point where he can defend himself?

Good question, Dave. The typical standard is not only reasonable fear of death, but also “great bodily harm.”

The only one who fricked up bigly was the driver. Stop trying to disrupt ICE and this doesn’t happen, and when confronted by ICE comply and this doesn’t happen.

I think this came up in the Rittenhouse trial - the prosecution made the argument, "sometimes you just have to take a beating" - and the defense, jury and every right-thinking American thought otherwise.

You have no way of knowing this, though. You’re trying to armchair quarterback a situation that you haven’t been in.

But let’s just assume for a second that the cop didn’t “fear for his life”. Do you think use of force isn’t justified in instances where there is a chance of great bodily harm? Most statutes regarding use of force in self defense take into account the possibility of great bodily harm.

Yes they do. And even moreso when it's an immigration officer shooting a US citizen. This isn't even a cop we're talking about, their job is far less dangerous than a real police officer. I support law enforcement but I will call it out when the agent is abusing their power or needlessly killing US citizens. Here is a breakdown of ICE agent deaths in their history, as much as DHS would like you to believe they are under attack, the data doesn't back it up.

Exactly. And not only that, but the reasonableness standard in a LEO situation like this is based on perspective of a law enforcement officer, not merely a civilian. And it’s specifically based on reasonable officer perception(s) in the moment, “not using hindsight” in the later assessment of the situation. Very important nuances there.

Ummm he was wearing an ICE uniform along with all of the other agents out there. Tactical gear, weapons, you name it.. and how do you know which “vehicle” that agent was in??

And just out of curiosity, why do you leftist morons believe it’s acceptable for protesters- specifically Antifa and BLM- to wear full face masks and tactical uniforms while they’re actually committing crimes against law enforcement and civilians??

Yes they do.

Well, you're wrong about that.

Moreover, how would it work if you were right? We've seen cops attacked during traffic stops - fist fights - so according to you, can't shoot the a-hole. But some of them escalate and we've even seen the a-hole take the cop's gun and use it on him. So reality is, you start fighting a cop, you roll your vehicle in a cop's direction, you can rightfully get your arse shot.

What does this have to do with a right to defend yourself?

You can write a dissertation on whatever you’d like on the subject of ICE and still never ever be able to change the fact she hit him with a car.

It’s impossible, don’t hurt yourself ;)

Have they released the toxicology reports?

It won’t change my opinion either way but if she pops dirty puffing on that weed vape while driving, on camera, I can’t wait for the show.

The communists will then have to support driving while intoxicated.

Darnell5445 - please tell me why the officers wear masks? Is it because these protesters will Doxx them and put them and their families in danger if they can identify them? The answer to that is undeniably yes.

So, the issue of masked officers that your ilk and the left like to complain about is a direct response to the dangerous actions of the left.
