Freakonomics was written over 30 years ago and documented how using names that tipped one's ethnicity disadvantaged black job applicants. Is that racist of hiring officials? Yes, but if you willingly name your kid "Shaniqua" you are putting them behind the 8-ball for employment from birth. Is that fair or just? No, but you have to decide what's important...the future of your children or some BS notion of "blackness" in naming a child.
